A Disturbed Force

Some idiot leaned on and then forcefully pushed Colby's bike over last night at a Carmichal billiard club. He heard the owner on the loudspeaker ask who owned the Kawasaki Ninja. He went outside to find the bike on the ground all twisted and messed up. They went back inside to look at the surveillance video and saw this drunk guy on foot where they saw him lean on and then push the bike down very hard. Can't really see the video very well, says Colby. Just a darkened image or shadow image. Real nice.

He was going to sell it for $1800.ish. Now it's totalled I guess. Too much money to fix it w/$1000. deductible. He's now looking for another cheap bike I guess. I know he wants a Yamaha R6 someday. Just not a good time for him right now.

Anyway, if anyone has or knows of a bike he might like it would be nice to find one within the good force.

Re: A Disturbed Force

Ya the entire upper front fairing is messed up (cracked, popped out), left blinker, left mirror, left exhaust, gas tank is dented, and the left handlebar is tweaked, along with the clutch lever being bent. It is rideable, but I can't ride it comfortably. The jerk really threw it down because he threw it down on the left side with the kickstand down. I just got news from a friend that he would be willing to buy it for $1000, so I'll wait to see how much insurance will offer me.

If I buy a bike, it will be a new R6, not interested in buying used again.

Oh man Colby this is terrible! That was such a fun bike and just kept going and going. Both Jessica and I are so sorry to hear this happened.

Heres a quick pic I took of the front of the bike... as you can see the front fairing is completely cracked in two spots.

Re: A Disturbed Force

Ok... Roseville Cycle just completed the estimate on the damage done to my bike. Are you ready? $5832 for parts and labor... Absolutely ridiculous. I was expecting somewhere around $3000 but nearly 6K? Glad I have insurance... But the $1000 deductible kinda sucks.

I wish! No unfortunately I will just get the value of the bike minus $1000... Which could be as much as $1800 according to the claims agent. Ya I think brand new the 500s are only about $5500.

Re: A Disturbed Force

You could probably put the bike together yourself for a whole lot less dough or take the $1800 and call it a free bike a for a year. Really sucks

Ya I'll just consider it a free rental . I'm hoping I can buy it back from the insurance once they total it because I know someone who wants to buy it for $1000.

Re: A Disturbed Force

Just thought I'd give an update... because of my terrific insurance company, State Farm, I have recieved a check for almost $3000! They valued my bike at $3987 even though it had a salvage title and paid only $1800 for it.

No wonder people do insurance fraud
