Iron Butt 1000 September 3 & 4

Anyone interested in taking a ride labor day weekend. I am thinking of leaving Thursday Night at midnight driving to Salt Lake City, hanging a right hand turn and arriving at the Hofbrau Haus in Las Vegas at 6pm Friday. 1083 miles per Google. Saturday and Sunday night in Vegas and return Monday.

Let me know, and as always, suggestions are certainly welcome

Some of us will be at CCR Sept 1 - 4 in Rapid City, SD. http://www.curvecowboyreunion.com/CCR2009/index.php
Try it, you'll like it!

Why not join us (way cheaper than a few days in Vegas) and it's only 1300 miles (closer if you take a few gravel shortcuts).

I'm interested in that ride. I will PM you soon. I have to confirm I don't have plans that week (vacation). I will need to come back home Sunday since I return to work the following Monday. I will contact a few of my riding buddies, they may want in on this ride too.

Where is Fair Oaks?

I just checked out the CCR link. I know it says the dates are Sept. 1 thru the 4th. But it also states it happens in August? Just want to get my dates straight. I may just ride the CCR instead. How much are room reservations?

Thanks,
George

Re: Iron Butt 1000 September 3 & 4

That will depend on the type of room you ask for as the room rates vary. You need to register on the CCR site, get you registration number, and then call the hotel to see what they have available and the rate. I believe if you call without a registration number you will get the current rate for the normal walk through the door visitor.

Geroge,

Fair Oaks is in Sacramento County. Note that the Monday you speak of is actually Labor Day.

Re: Iron Butt 1000 September 3 & 4

Doug, since my wife was sooo nice in letting me go to Alaska (she adds "for 3 weeks") the Las Vegas thing is for her. (She is flying in). Plus my anniversary is the week before and this "meeting" in Vegas is a partial anniversary thing. (the ride and Hofbrau Haus is not)

The CCR sounds interesting and I may do that in a future year.

Good boy, got to build up those ride credits.
They move CCR around someplace new each year so be sure to check just after this years event and see if next years location interests you. Wives are welcome and lots for them to do at CCR.

Re: Iron Butt 1000 September 3 & 4

I agree with Doug. After making our first CCR in 2005, we look forward to it each year. As a matter of fact she makes me go each year now. CCR is a first class gathering. Come see us. I'll bet you'll be back.
