Thumbs up GS Tech Day / BBQ - Late April

Time for a spring get together.
Mike and I want to tune up the GS's for our Alaska run.
How about just after Tax time, April 18th/19th or 25th/26.

Looking for "Experts" who can make sure we do not mess-up to attend.

Things we may work on include;
Changing tires
Valve adjustments
Carb Sync
Brake flush
Clutch flush
Fuel Filter

Which of the 4 days above works for YOU?

Reply and we'll see what day works for the most folks.

Not exclusive for the GS, any bike that needs attention is welcome as is anyone who just wants to watch and eat.

4/25 works the best for me. However, I can do either weekend if needed.

The 1150 GSA and The 1200 GS require two very different HAMMERS to be tuned properly. Do you have them both or will you be needing me to bring them ?

Please bring whatever you think will be usefull.
Since I do not have a 1200, I only have the1150 hammer.
Just bought a 3/8 drive 20-100 nm torque wrench, 18 piece ALLEN key socket set, 23 piece TORX socket set and a 36 piece engineers tool kit all by Proxxon from BestRest Products. Arrived yesterday.
http://www.bestrestproducts.com/c-28-proxxon-tools.aspx
Ordered the cap for my brake unit so I can make the cap/funnel substitute flush tool and have brake fluid for my bike.
Picked up 2/15 and 2/30 feeler gages for valves (1150)
Just sent a set of Ohlins in for rebuild so will need to install them.
Will be ordering a couple of tune-up kits from Beemerboneyard
Still have Raffy's lift and lots of misc. tools.

I have valve and brake flush how to info copied from ADVrider

Would appreciate those attending who have other needed equipment/tools/ manuals/DVD's to please bring them along with how to experience.

If you are working on your bike, please bring parts/fluids needed.
There is a Napa Store 1 mile away if we need misc. stuff.

Don't forget your favorite beverage. Do attendees want to do Potluck or I can get Deli stuff from Payless Market 1 mile away and we all kick in a few $$$?.
YES!!! there will be Lockeford Sausages.

If you need directions, PM me

Anyone want to pratice camping? You are welcome to come by Friday or stay over Saturday nite. Pond should be dry enough for "Ponderizing".

When you do go, Steve, stop by Ohio and pick me up. Maybe we could ride out together. I could get my seat rebuilt on the same trip.

I have two complete sets of feelers for the oil heads and a Motion Pro for the sync. We should have a large fan on hand so the GS's don't over heat. I'll try and be there I need to do my 16K on the FJR ( just check the plugs, Air filter and a Snyc) the valves don't need to be checked until 26K.

Don't thank me yet Raffy, I was looking at the instructions on ADVR site on throttle body sync. and found that the 1150 and older have an air mixture screw on each throttle body, which is what you use to sync. them up. The 1200 does not and you use the cable adjust. I can come up one of these days and do it right, let me know when?
