Ride for Kids - 1st Annual Northern California Event

Last year was the final San Francisco and Sacramento "Ride for Kids". This year the event will be known as the Northern California "Ride for Kids", and it will take place as follows:

Date: October 4, 2009
Location: Solano Community College in Fairfield, CA
Registration: 7:30-9:45 a.m.
Departure Time: 10:00 a.m. begins the police escorted ride through Napa Valley
Registration Fee: $35.

For more information about the NorCal "Ride for Kids" go to: http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/ca...alifornia.html

Come to the ride and support the work to extinguish the #1 form of Cancer killing our children. Do your own fundraising before the event, and let others pay your registration fee. For more information about this very worthy event go to:

http://www.pbtfus.org and http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/

If you can't make the ride and still would like to make a contribution to support the event, you can start a "FirstGiving" webpage or support the kids through my webpage, located below my signature.

Ride with Pride,

Capt John

We're in (me and the SO). Usually avoid riding with a few hundred others, handlebar to handlebar, but this one is very well organized! Thanks for the heads up, John!

Re: Ride for Kids - 1st Annual Northern California Event

I'll look forward to seeing you there. I know in the past that Ted has participated. In fact, he was one of the escort riders for the kids when I saw him at the defunct Sacramento Ride several years back.

A&S has been continuously involved for many years, and has RidePackets available, now. They used to have a nice posting on their website, but I'm not sure if they still have that.

That's it! The main reason to get that RidePacket early is to do some advance fund raising for the event. There'll be plenty of sign-up forms at the event, itself.

Re: Ride for Kids - 1st Annual Northern California Event

The "Ride for Kids" is only ONE MONTH away, and we need ALL our members support. Several of us have been busy fundraising and getting donations for the "Ride for Kids", which will take place on October 4, 2009. Please, collect your donations and use those donations as your Registration Fee for the event.

When you register, the donations you collected will be credited toward premiums which you'll earn that day plus for every $300 you raise, you'll get 1 ticket toward the motorcycle drawing. After you register, go to the club and dealership table, and also apply your donations to the your favorite club and your favorite motorcycle dealership.

If you can not make the ride, I encourage you to make a donation to one of our "FirstGiving" websites so that you might still be a silent participant in this most worthy event:

http://www.firstgiving.com/tlash

http://www.firstgiving.com/CaptJohn

Many of you have already made donations, but if you haven't, get involved in the fight against the most deadly form of Cancer attacking our children.

Ride with Pride,

Capt John

Re: Ride for Kids - 1st Annual Northern California Event

I have always been leary of HUGE group rides. Just the thought of riding handlebar to handlebar with hundreds of people I don't know gave me the willies...

My wife has always wanted to do a fundraiser ride, so we signed up for the Ride for Kids. What a well organized event, the best large fundraiser ride that I have ever been a part of! We will be back next year (and will raise MORE money for a great cause). Met a bunch of great folks, and saw some interesting rides!

Re: Ride for Kids - 1st Annual Northern California Event

Thanks for the participation of everyone at this worthy ride. Because of you, we were able to raise $120,200. for the day's event. Those were great pictures, by the way.

Maybe next year we can even do better. Remember and put it on your calenders. The Northern California Ride for Kids will be on the 1st Sunday of October 2010, and, God willing, will take place at the same place.

See you next year...

Ride with Pride,

Capt John
Tracy, CA
