Thumbs up Re: Usal Rd. Sinkyone Park

Thats the "Lost Coast Highway".

John and Raffy have gone in from the south as far as the beach.

Nathan and I went in almost to Honeydew (paved) off 101.

I want to try and leave Friday Oct. 3 thru Lassen and overnight in Redding or Fortuna. Then ride Usal Road Saturday north to south to Ft Bragg to meet up with the David Taylor group.

Tune-up ride before leaving for the Copper Canyon, Mexico on 10/11.

Yes - but do to the tree huggers all of the roads are closed until futher notice or law suits to reopen them. You can drive in off of Hwy 1 about 4 or 5 miles to the beach head then all of the gates are up to block the roads further in. It's a nice ride to do if your in the area like at Fort Bragg in October.

Here's some pics

Sounds good, but as John said, it is partially closed. Can work around it.

Even the paved roads are closed, or just the off road stuff?

No just the roads in the Sinkyone Wilderness park, there all dirt. IF you look on the map this area is just south of the Lost Coast loop. You use to be able to access the lost coast if you connected enough of the dirt roads through this park. But the roadless initiative has shut down all the roads through this area but the one from the south off of Hwy 1 for about 5 miles.

Re: Usal Rd. Sinkyone Park

The Lost Coast sealed section was OK spring last year when I did it. Lots of gravel on the road. Littered with push-bikers when I was there which made it very slow.

Re: Usal Rd. Sinkyone Park

looks like a ride to Wa-la-la on a friday after work, pack the camp poop, ride to the LC Sat., spend the nite, ride home Sun.

That, my friends, is a proper "run-on" sentence!

I'm ready when you are LT. Dan.
