Talking Fort Bragg 08 Ride

Hello David, after 3 trips to Cambria and 2 more to Fort Bragg, all organized by you, I am trying to plan ahead and make it to Fort Bragg again this Fall. Do you have a date set yet?
I have a date with Rasputin!

Re: Fort Bragg 08 Ride

I'm starting to look at dates now. I'll be in Fort Bragg Saturday night so it's the perfect opportunity to get things set up with the hotel and restaurant. Can you give me until early next week?

And I'll make sure they have a little Rasputin left for you.

David, take all the time you need. I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss any announcement. Thanks again for doing this!

After Friday I'm off for 2 weeks. Quit my job at HP and don't start at the new place until the 28th. So i'll have a couple of spare brain cycles to ponder the choices.

Talking Re: Fort Bragg 08 Ride

Hey Dave,

If you've got some time to spend either direction on the trip to Ft. Bragg, might want to check out a little Italian family-run restaurant & bar along the way (Ford City) called "Dinuccio's." In the early 70's several of us in the Air Force would stop there for dinner on the way back from Bodega Bay to Hamilton AFB in San Rafael. WAS really great food (dinner plate size hamburgers, home-made minnestroni soup, and spaghetti that was dyno-mite), and for cheap. Great atmosphere, too.

This was the place I'd mentioned to you a few years ago at Ft. Bragg, but Mr. Rasputin, and his buddies with Black and Black were also talking that night, so don't know how much actually was heard.

Meant to get back there to check out if it had changed before we moved out of the area, but that didn't happen.

Re: Fort Bragg 08 Ride

I can't find a reference to it anywhere on the web, are you sure it's still there? And the only Ford City I can find is in Kern county west of Bakersfield.

It's in Valley Ford on Hwy 1 south of Bodega Bay

Yeah, Dinucci's, here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...51712854183083

I've ridden by there hundreds of times, never stopped but I always wonder if it's good.

Re: Fort Bragg 08 Ride

Yup, that's the place. Again, don't know how it is now, but if lunch/dinner time is approaching, it might be a place to consider - for future reference on the trip up, as an alternate to the BBQ oyster place on the bay.
