Hotel Recommendation in Ely, NV

I'm probably going to stay in Ely one night on the way to CCR and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations, both of good places to stay as well as ones to avoid like the plague. I've found a couple that seem interesting. For example, the Hotel Nevada gives 10% motorcycling discounts and claims to have secure bike parking with security patrols.

Thanks!

The Hotel Nevada is very cool. It's quirky and cheap. They usually let you park your bike right in front of the lobby. Raffy had his LT on the side lot the night we were there on the way to Breckenridge and it got knocked over though

That's were I'd stay but there is a Best Western too and you can't go wrong with that, just doesn't have the charm of the Hotel Nevada.

Yes the Hotel Nevada is nice in an old Fashion way. It's an Old time Nevada style place, lots of smoke on the casino floor. Small 1800's style rooms but very clean, the showers go hot and cold. They are very friendly and beers are a buck.
If you need a fancy place this is not it, that being said I like staying there. Just park right in front of the main door in the yellow area.

Isn't this the place you can get a fairly bad but satisfying prime rib dinner for about $4.00?

Lots of charm but no escaping the cigarette smoke stench. So bring a couple cigars and join right in!

If you do decide to go Best Western, I'd recommend the Best Western Main over the one that's in the middle of town.

Mo betta.

Depends on your departure time, mission parameters, and safety quotient, right?

True, it certainly could be, and the radar detector is working quite nicely on its new mount. But I'm going to play in the mountains on the way to Ely, then I'm meeting up with ElJeffe and some other Texas troublemakers in Torrey on Saturday for a couple of days of fartin' around before we all head up to Zermatt.
