Anybody got a spare GS Tank?

I posted this in Bike Talk but thought I would check in with the local crew as well. While servicing my GS one of the studs that holds the fuel pump inside the tank broke off. I need to either find a way to replace the stud or, if it can't be repaired, another tank. I know new ones are large $$$$ (as are aftermarket), and I found one at Beemer Boneyard that's reasonable (wrong color but that can be fixed), but I would rather fix the tank I have if possible. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: Anybody got a spare GS Tank?

try looking on craigslist. Especially the bay area. I have seen some used GS tanks on there. Over at the advrider website, another guy was parting out his GS and I believe he still had the tank for sale last time I looked.

Yep just ran out to Tracy and met up with Chuck and grabbed the tank. Thanks again, Chuck, you rock!!

Bob - I didn't realize you were home or I would have swung by. I took 680 to 84 to Livermore and picked up Tesla to Corral Hollow out to Tracy. Came back the same way. The Sequoia doens't like those corners as well as the GS or GT; I had the traction control beeping at me most of the way!
