CCR Express III - time to set up trailer

Time to get the trailer ready for CCR.

Saturday I will pull the trailer on the driveway and start getting things inside ready for the trip.

I'm going to look for storage cabinets for the upper sides of the trailer and a set for the front with a small bench with integral cabinets.

Measure and position wheel chocks. The trailer comes with two Pingle chocks but they may not be in the right spots. I'll use a couple of Baxley chocks instead. Plenty of tie down spots since the trailer has E-tracks already.

Anyone with sheet metal experience that cann help is needed. There is a smal tear (3"x3") in the outer skin of the trailer that needs to be patched. I figure a 6"x6" or 8"x8" piece will do the job. The patch piece needs to be curved a bit. I figure pop rivet or self tapping screws and a good amount of sealant under and around the edges should suffice.

Anyone interested in coming by and helping out Saturday afternoon is welcome. The BBQ grill is ready to cook some burgers and hot dogs and refreshments are available.

Thanks Nathan for coming and helping me with bolting down the Baxley wheel chock and running around town looking for a spare wheel.

Found a used wheel at Marv's Trailer Repair on Hwy 50. I'll put a new tire on it tomorrow.

Doug:

We set the chock 23.5" from the wall measured from center of wheel chock head. I think that's what we used on the other trailer. Not having an LT to measure with, the 23.5" figure is what came to mind.

Let me know if this is wrong.

Marv's Trailers is a great place. I've bought a bunch of stuff from him.

The LT is 42 inches wide at the mirrors so you should have about 2 inches clearance. Even more if you remove the mirror...

You can get storage cabinets and benches for vans and trailers from American Van.

Scott:

Thanks. I'll look them up.

Ted:

Thanks. That would give me 1.5" from the left side. I will definetly remove the mirror on the left side.

A second LT can fit if I set the second chock so that the mirror and handlebar of the second LT is behind the first LT's handlebar. It will be tight but secure.

The front 2 feet are for cargo storage or cabinet/bench and the back 2 feet are for cargo or miscellaneous items.

Perfect. Will work without removing mirror.

Stagger second chock 10 to 12 inches if there is room.

I looked up a bunch of cabinets etc online. Some are real nice and have the matching price tag to boot. Other's are sheetmetal bent and welded.

I found an outfit that makes stuff using diamond plate. The link :

http://pitproducts.com/?gclid=CMvDu4...FRsrYQodCDGzdw

If I get a 6' bench/cabinet and a couple of 95" overhead cabinets with gas struts, shipping will be free and I can have them in about a week.

Trying to find an outfit in the immediate area has been fruitless so far. I did one in Socal.
