Beat the Heat

Had a nice ride yesterday to the coast to get out of this damn valley heat
Had lunch in Jenner. It was a balmy 59 degrees at 3pm

Lots of cloud cover. We didn't see the sun again until we got through San Francisco.

Hwy 1 was beautiful as usual. It was really cold at the Golden Gate. Had to stop and put in the liners

There will be a prize for whoever comes up with the best caption for this pic -

Looks like you had a fun time. I'm green with envy that you can ride to SF for a day ride.

What an amazing day we had, we have other photos to post tonight that may be equally entertaining . There are some interesting weather stories to tell from this little excursion like the fact that it was 78 degrees in Winters but it got up to 99 degrees as soon as we were close to Berryessa, really the oddest thing I have ever felt since riding that route. As soon as we were away from Berryessa it was back in the mid-80's. As we rode along the Russian river it stayed in the mid 80's until we got close to Jenner then the temps dropped from 80 to 59 degrees in a 8 mile distance.
The winds as we got close to the Golden Gate Bridge were unreal, I would bet we had 40mph gust hitting us at times. It really was a perfect day ride.
