Modesto bound tomorrow

Got the day off. Going in the morning for some fine tuning on the dyno. Need to be there by 9 am (leave my place at 7:45 am) and back home by 1:30 pm.

Anyone want to go along?

Damn, I could pick you up for coffee, but I have to be in Escalon at 9 am. When I pass through Modesto on the way back I'll give you a call if it's before 1:00.

Yes on the baffles.

Don says to allow up to two hours. That brings us to 11:00 am. I should make Lodi around 11:45 if I leave promptly. Lunch is a possibility.

Raffy, you know of some "back roads" to Modesto, or is 99 your bet?

There are a few.

From Sacramento, you can take Hwy 16 to Michigan Bar Rd, then head east on 88 to Jackson. Take 49 through Sonora all the way to 132 (Coulterville) and then west into Modesto.

Or from Sacramento, take 16 to Dillard and from Dillard make a left on Clay Station Rd which takes you to N Elliott to Lockeford (88 and 12). From there you go on Jack Tone rd which joins 99 about 12 miles north of Modesto.

re-tuned the Multistrada

Left the house around at 7:42 am and made it to Modesto Ducati at 8:49 am.

I watched drooled over a 1098S Tri Color and a few other things. then I watched Don tune the Multistrada on a dyno. the results below.

With baffles out and re-tuning to make it a bit richer to compensate for the leanness, we gained about 2 extra ft-lbs of torque between 3-4K rpm accross the band and 1 ft-lbs between 4-5K rpm.

Also gained 1-2 hp between 3-4.6K rpm

Max torque went from 71.23 (last dyno with baffles) to 72.02 prior to tuning (with baffles out) to 71.95 after tuning. A net gain of 0.72 ft-lbs.

Max HP went from 87.82 (last dyno with baffles) to 87.22 (with baffles out prior to tuning) to 87.14 after tuning. A net loss of 0.68 hp.

Yup had lunch with Hal (thanks for lunch Hal) and Doug at the Omlet House diner right off of 12 East.

Huge traffic jam between 99/80/50 split all the way towards Cal Expo. I bailed out at N street instead of H and made it home.

Traffic there was just silly today. I bailed out on T Street myself.
