GS Ride 5/27/07 Hennesss Pass

Thinking about a GS ride tomorrow, some paved some dirt. Shouldn't be anything to difficult unless any snow gets in the way and if that the case I'll cut it short.

Start: The Western Coffee Cup 9am
Ride up to Nevada City and take some small roads they start paved and turn to dirt. These wind up to Henness Pass rd that goes all the way to Hwy 89 and if clear then all the way to Verdi NV by I80.
Go as far as we feel like.

I'll be at the Western Coffee Cup a little early for a cup of coffee. IF anyone wants to join in just let me know or just show up.

John & Nathan,

How was the Henness Pass ride? Do you have pics?

Here are a few photos from a ride I did last September on my Wee-Gee. I rode a short way up Henness Pass from the Verdi, Nevada, side; only a mile or two -- but great views. I then rode back down through Reno and VC, and out Ft. Churchill Road to the Ft. Churchill historic site.

On the road to wreck, and ruin - but making great time.

Just got back, great ride today, just a little over 300 miles door to door. In actuality only did about 16 miles of Henness Pass and that was paved. But the North Bloomfield road out of Nevada City, then Meadow Lake and Granite roads were unbelievable! The mountain Lakes and valleys were great!
We did about 40 miles or so of dirt and rock roads the rest was paved. After we finally got to Henness Rd we turned on 89 and went to Sierraville for lunch, then to Quincy and back to Marysville on Laporte Rd.
On the way to Marysville the bugs were out to get me, they started with my forehead just above my glasses. When that didn't work they went for the oil cooler to try and over heat my GS...................

Nathan Has some pics, maybe he will add them soon.
