Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Cole's Chop House; $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Mustard Grill: Just north of Yountville, never been there.

Downtown Joe's: A local brew pub, it's only $$$$$$$, and probably more our kind of place. But be aware, parking is always tight downtown. Especially since the Army Corp of Engineers has a near-by riverside park torn up. I could meet you guys and escourt you to the city employees lot by the PD (no problem after business hours), but it's a few blocks walk. Doable, but still a short walk.

If Mustards can take us it is VERY tasty. I had lunch there last month with Jess. I don't mind walking a few blocks if Tom thinks the downtown spot is good. Tom, do you have any input on other places to go? I would like to make some phone calls tomorrow if we can get some suggestions.
Lisa, that winery was lots of fun so we would need to hear from Doug on that.

Nancy and I are in for any place the group selects. It's been way too long since our last HDDC ride.

IMO and FWIW:

Cole's seems to have excellent food and is quite elegant. Perhaps a bit too elegant for the HDDC.

Mustard's Grill and Downtown Joe's both look to be excellent choices.

I think we'd cast votes in this order:
Mustard's Grill
Downtown Joe's
Cole's Chop House

.

I called Mustards and they said no dice on a group bigger then six. They own a restaurant in St. Helena that can take a group of any size. Here's the link: http://cindysbackstreetkitchen.com/

I called Downtown Joe's and they would love to have us so that may be the hot ticket.

Nancy reminded me that we had dinner at Mustard's awhile back. It was very good. Too bad they can't take a large group. For those looking for a nice lunch ride, keep them in mind.

I think dinner at Down Town Joe's in Napa will make the evening ride home a bit easier.

Unhappy Bummer

Well, after wanting to go to Napa for dinner for so long, I just found out last night that my daughter Michaela (who is a sophomore) is performing in her HS Senior Send-off concert, and my wife will be working, so it is up to me to video record the event for the family.

I know that there will be other opportunities, but my time in town is starting to run short, since I am leaving for about 2 months to be on the road sometime in June.

Have lots of fun and a safe ride. Lift up one for me.

I'm not going to be able to make it either, I've got a 3:00 in west Sac. then have to be in Folsom before 5:00, and I still have to take care of the ranch after that! So have fun and I'll be wishing I was there.......

Well folks... I get a night to ride and well what happens... a broken pipe in the main bathroom.... sorry that I missed the ride ... both Mary Lou and I were looking forward to seeing everyone and having a good meal with good friends...

the good news is I got the pipe fixed... and all is working and cleaned up.... will have to dry out a bit but lucky for me my son found it early ....

Pictures...

Excellent ride out to Napa!! The deer were small and stayed off the road, life is good.

The food and beer was very good. We'll have to add Downtown Joe's to the regular list.
