MSF Dirt School this weekend

Howdy Guys,

Are you going on Saturday, or Sunday?

Anyone hear from Rob Rickert confirming the rescheduled day?

From the website it looks like the start time is 8:00AM and the class runs for 6 hours. It says to bring our own lunch and something to drink.

Here is LINK to his website for info.

I have signed up for the Saturday class. I am concerned that the rain may postpone it. Does anyone know if the class can "rain out"?

The last one did. It was a Saturday, and it poured. It was canceled. Don't know about tomorrow though.

If the course is too muddy on Saturday he will cancel it. I would suggest calling Rob's cel tomorrow morning to see whats up....

Howdy Bob,

I'll sum it up by saying it's equal to the best, if the best, money I've spent on something related to motorcycles.

The mix of training and then the terrain course to finish up was excellent.

Unfortunately for me I got sick midway through the first exercise. Even so, with the technique I was taught I never felt so secure on dirt. I am looking forward to possibly taking the course again when I feel better.

As an observer I had nothing but respect for the guys that finished the course. It got so muddy Rob switched everyone to light bikes with knobbies; everyone except Doug that is. Doug was pretty amazing as he rode his big GS through mud that I had a hard time walking in. Finally the mud got too much for Doug on the GS (with knobbies) and even he switched to a smaller bike. While no one looked too graceful they did it and I wish I could have been one of them.

Sorry I missed this, Dell I'll take the class with you.

My fun was driving in the falling snow over Carson pass today.

We had an excellent class as well on Sunday. Cool most of the day, and a constant annoying wind, but at least it was dry.

The telling thing was how Rob led us over to the state garage for air after class, unexpectedly on a trail instead of the road.

I would say I would have been uncomfortable on that trail had I rode it in the morning, but it was no big deal with the confort level gained from the class.

Well worth the time and money, and Rod is an excellent teacher.

I am hoping we can all get together and take some dirt day rides soon to practice what we have learned.

Anyone know some reasonably easy routes to take for some initial rides?
