We will be contacting those who have already reserved at the Holiday INN to help with switching reservations.
Thursday night will also be avaliable upon request.

For those who come early on Thursday Night we will have a small early arrival dinner, tire kicking and maybe a little beer drinking....
Friday night will be the Meet and Greet across they way in front of the Riverside Lodge (sister property) at the Mexican Restaurant Patio for margaritas, cervasas and eats.
Saturday brings Hellsgate Jets boat tour and brunch
(next door to the hotel - more info to come) and lots of great M/C riding in the Mountains, along the river and Crater Lake. Saturday’s dinner is being planned as I type this, information to come.

SO Please make your reservations today, Lets fill this Inn up. Thanks!

The Forth Annual West Coast Rendezvous will be held in Beautiful Grants Pass Oregon which is in the heart of the Rogue River Valley. This year we have a local couple Vince and Melinda Weidig (Bayliner2052) and Dan Kienle (reelman) from the PNW that have graciously volunteered to be our hosts for WCR 2007. Vince and Melinda have secured accommodations at the (Update hotel change - do not reserve here) Holiday Inn Express Grants Pass. (Update hotel change - do not reserve here) Camping is also an option for some in our group. Indian Mary Park offers one of the best campsites in Oregon and is right on the Rogue. Reservations are definitely required.

Some of the advantages to Grants Pass, and southern Oregon, starts with the warm weather in June; also some of the best rides in Oregon are just a very short ride from town (Crater Lake <100mi, Oregon Caves <50mi and the southern Oregon coast at just over 100 mi) and some of the best dual-sport roads on the west coast. There is jetboating on the Rogue as well as rafting adventures. Ashland has the Shakespeare Festival with the Tempest on Friday evening and the Taming of the Shrew on Saturday for some added entertainment.

WCR 2006 will again basically be a loose and unorganized ride to meet the other great members of the board out here on the West Coast and do some riding! There will be no Official sign ups or entry fees but please respond if you make hotel reservations and plan to attend the Saturday Dinner so we may get head counts. Along with Saturday Dinner we have a Friday night meet & greet and lots of unorganized rides!
We will be looking for a few door prizes, so if you have a good rapport with your local dealer see if you can work a gift certificate out of them for the event. This event would not be possible without this great BBS, so we will pass the hat for any voluntary donations that we can squeeze out...............
Along with our Hosts Vince & Melinda Weidig and Dan Kienle - Please welcome John Fisher (Alaskafish), Ken Meese (Meese), they have joined Ernie Azevedo (ErineA) and myself (amarider) as unofficial organizers for WCR. Please feel free to PM any of us with your suggestions or questions. More info to come as it become available, but make your reservations early so we may expand the block of rooms if needed.

Update:

Dan (Reelman) is working on some GS routes - We should have a couple of nice 1/2 day GS rides for Friday and Saturday. This is a great chance to do some exploring in Southern Oregon.

Travel Plans to WCR

For those heading from NorCal up to WCR, What are your travel plans?
I'm leaving on Thursday, most likely in the morning. Not sure of the route yet but If I get to head out early enough, I thinking of Hwy 36 and a few forest service road (Nice paved one) and back roads all the way to Grants Pass.

3 days.

Question

I'm heading up Friday (hopefully morning, and hopefully with my wife), but not sure of the time. I like John's idea of hwy 36 over to the coast from Red Bluff, then on the coast for a short time, and over to GP. Unfortunately, it'd make our day close to 12 hours solid driving.

We'll have the time solidified tomorrow afternoon/early evening whilst packing.

I don't think Flowers meant he was riding all the way to the coast. There are a lot of forest roads in that area, many quite well paved and a whole lot of fun.

One option is to take 36 west from Red Bluff to Hayfork, then cut north on Highway 3 and rejoin I-5 at Yreka. A slightly shorter option is to take 299 west from Redding towards Weaverville, then take 3 north to Yreka. I often add one of these little detours when heading through the area.

If you have a bit more time, you can take 36 west to 3 north to 299 west to 96 north, then take the National Forest road out of Happy Camp to the 199 and then on to Grants Pass. I don't do this often as it does add a significant amount of time, but it is always a great ride.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
