Nice Ride Today

Hi all,

Today I took the GS up past Nevada City and road to the little town of North Bloomfield via North Bloomfield Road. After you pass Nevada City you follow the sign to Downieville on 49. Turn right on North Bloomfield Road and enjoy a great fully paved road with lots of twisties. The road eventually becomes a combination of graded dirt, gravel, washboard, and rutted pavement. It is extremely narrow with lots of tight curves.

I found the road fairly easy, probably a level 1 or 2 on the Backcountry Adventures rating system. You could take a car on it if you don't mind narrow spaces and an extremely rough road. I thought the GS was going to shake apart in some areas.

The following link shows some of the photos I took today.

I stopped because I was getting tired but I am anxious to continue on this road and see Graniteville, Bowman Lake and more.

Wow! Great pics and ride summary. Wish I was with you. And, I have been by that road and wondered where it went. Guess I'll have to check it out on GS jr.

Dell, great photos and trip. Nothing more fun to me than trying to get lost on a bike... "The road unknown.."

Dell, how much is Ted paying you to tempt me to get a GS......cuz he should double it!!! Man, that looked like a cool little day trip.

Great pictures and write up. It's nice to see you out on the roads even if I can't get out there myself right now

Hey Billy,
The R or S and the GS is a great combo.
I have been alternating riding the KS and the GS, they really compliment each other. You can outfit the GS to be your LD bike so you won't miss the LT to much.

I'm guessing Nancy might be more comfortable on the LT than a GS but maybe not.

Well gang....

Howdy Dell, John,

You know, I am sure the LT is THE most comfortable bike in the world, but if we cut back on the miles in a day just a bit.... say down to 600... I think the GS would work just fine.

Got the "green light" from Nancy to let Dieter go to good home. Tell your friends to check out the forum classifieds.

Saw your ad Billy, it's never easy letting a good ride go.....

If you and Nancy want to take the Radio Flyer for a little ride, just let me know - we can set something up.

Good luck with the Sale.
