I have a suggestion for the HDDC 11/22... Let's make a reservation in at the Kaiser bar and cafeteria!

This was my second nightime ride on the bike where I was on backroads etc. The first time the headlight was adjusted too low (day I picked it up) and I was considering an immediate HID update. When I adjusted the lights to the proper level, I could see another 30-40 feet which made a huge difference since that was exactly where I normally scan the road ahead.

Now the clincher, the dual bulb high beams on this bike are phenomenal. No need to upgrade to aux lights. Except for Motolights for the triangle effect and conspicuity.

I'm happy.

Same thoughts here - My lights were adjusted way to low. When I got home I adjusted it up some - big improvement.
I agree the dual high beams are amazing - I guess that means the K1200S is Female in nature...........

Very nice, John.

I love the S model of that bike and especially in that blue color scheme. Perhaps the R version is male and the S female?

I am sure a run up to Anderson is forthcoming as well.

Congrats, John. Sweet. Curious -- why the S, as opposed to say the R, or GT?

Motorcycling is a passion to me so I had to go with what the heart desired. Besides the R is too little and the GT a bit too much - I have the GS for most of my touring and adventure need. The S is for my Need for Speed. Responsibly of course, obeying all Laws to the best of my ability.

I am anxious to get the GS set up this winter. I have wanted one since they were 1100s. The GS will probably help me enter a new chapter in travel, I am planning to travel way north next summer.

Nice wheels, John. I thought about dropping by dinner, but was about two hours early and wanted to get back to SoCal before midnight.

Enjoy the new ride.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Good catch Grif.

Randy, Thats a biggggggggggggg dual sport. Get a lot of practice in before attacking that Far north road, its a mean one. I was amazed on how much I forgot about riding off the asphalt over the years. But I love every mile I get to explore in the dirt.

Hey Ken, ya should of stopped..... whats a few hours when you get to break bread with friends. You would want us to revoke your HDDC membership now, would ya?

Thanks All.

Yes, it is. But then again - I am a fairly good sized boy

I plan on it. Our back yard is like yours - a great playground.

I was sorely tempted to stop. But I wanted to get home because, well, you've met my wife.

As it was, I got pretty tired around Lost Hills, and stopped for a late dinner then. While checking the tires, I found a staple in the rear. A half-hour later I had it plugged, pumped back up, and was back on the road. At least that kept me awake for the next 200 miles home.

By the way, Raffy, my CCR award arrived. It's pretty awesome. Thanks for getting that to me.
