1st ride

Forgot to take a picture.

It was David's (5 yrs old) first ride on the LT today going to school. He has been bugging me for a while but I wouldn't take him unless he could reach the foot pegs (raised ones).

Well this morning he doned on the HJC youth helmet and hopped on the back seat. Tied his backpack to the top rack and gave him some basic instructions.

Took off nice and easy to his school. He was smiling ear to ear when I took his helmet off. Ata boy.

Tomorrow is Nicole's turn. She's been wanting to ride to school too.

That's great!

This coming summer I plan to get my so (10yrs) on the back for a short trip or two.... He has waited a couple years patiently - we're both excited!

That is so coooool!

Pictures... we demand pictures!

And BTW, with all the scooter riders you will have in your family very soon, you may need that 25 acre ranch style and 12 car garage you been lookin' at...

I keep telling the wife to move out to the hills or in suburbs. But then realise that we live 3 miles from work.

Too cool... I have a LONG while to wait with mine...

At 16 months he's already begging me to sit on it - so I turn it on, sit him down, and let him play with the horn and windshield controls.

He also WANTS to put the helmet on whever we walk past the bike - and makes "Vroooom - Vrooom" sounds whenever he sees it... Something about kids loving the motorcycles!

My 10 year old twin daughters keep bugging me to get on the bike...

I guess I need to get a helmet for them...
Funny thing is their moms' (my ex) reaction "there is no way in hell they are getting on that thing (the LT)!!!"
Yeah right! You can't stop the tide, lady!!!

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Oh Yeah! I remember when my sons and daughter got old enough to ride, they wanted to go everywhere on the bike and got a hugh kick out of thier friends reactions when they would show on the back of the bike! My younger son was always the best passenger, hung right in there and followed my lead to the letter with leaning and not fighting the bike thru turns, and antisipating stops so he wouldn't rock back and forth or bang his helmet into mine. I think it was as big a thrill for me as it was for them!

I ride because I look funny walking!

Max too........

Picked Max(5) up from school for the first time about three weeks ago on Ted's LT. He was hoottin' & hollarin' all the way home. Have picked him up twice on the GS since then and it's been a treat for both of us.
The MOMS always give us the "what the f-ck" look as we're ridin' away.

Sorry..... no pics here either

Thumbs up

My kids have both enjoyed being dropped off at school (or picked up) on the bike. It definitely heightens their "cool factor" with the kids at school.

I used to love picking up my youngest daughter at high school with some rap music (I hate rap) blasting from the LT's speakers. It was about the only time during her teenage years that she could stomache me. *snicker*
