I "registered" for the forum. I thought there was some kind of sign up list for the actual event to say you were coming.

Sorry, misunderstood.

When it gets a little closer, one of the oldtimers usually starts a list of whose going. It's a pretty loose gathering and therefore no real registration as such.

Hope you are riding by then.

Me too. I should have surgery by the end of November so I should be back on the bike by January. Don't know if I'll be up for that long a ride but I'll keep my fingers crossed....

Hey Tom, Nate and others. Deano and I are going to trailer down the GS's. There should be enough room for 1-2 more bikes if you want to take the 650. We were thinking about just doing a light dirt day one day and a street ride the other. Deano hasn't seen all the DV sites like Bad Water, Dante's Peak etc...

I know its a few months off but just wanted to give a heads up. We'll probably leave Thurday after work and get as far as we can so we roll into DV early Friday. Plan on staying at Furnace Creek.

HmmmÖ.

Iím tentatively planning on taking that whole week off. Kay and I are going to do our own thing for a few days in the Monterey area. Then Iím going to leave from there on Weds (January 24), and ride down. Because of the miles, and weather, I would be on either the RT or LT.

But, if you have room on the trailer, I may take you up on your offer to have my little GS down there also -- it would be perfect once in the Valley both on and off road. (Iíd like to ride out to Teakettle Junction, and the Racetrack, btw). But I donít want to take away trailer space from someone else that might otherwise not go down at all. Let me think about it.

Hey Tom. Thanks for the heads up. I got a deluxe room. The parkside rooms are sold out.

Make sure you tell them that you are with the "Internet BMW Riders" for the discount rate...

Hey there is nothing wrong with the cabins. I stayed in one last year and would request one again this year. I liked the fact it was close to the store and restaurants and I could park my bike right in front.

On the down side, it was a little small especially the bathroom.

Ok, got a cabin this year for a change - splitting with Nathan. Plans are to ride down early on Thursday or trailer down with Raffy. Staying 4 nights to really get to know Death Valley this year, do some extra riding and maybe some beer drinking. Returning on Monday.

Looking forward to get lost in the Desert with Friends!

Nathan is riding down with some friends and I may join them with the K1200S and have Raffy trailer the GS down unless the weather gets ugly.

Nathan and I are leaving bright and early Thursday morning, rain or shine. We will stay in Lone Pine Thursday night and ride into Death Valley Friday morning.

Hopefully John, and anyone else that wants to, will join us.

We're staying at the Dow Villa Motel (800) 824-9317 (more reasonable rates and better food than DV)

Ride fast. Take chances.

I would like to ride with you guys. The route looks interesting. I was planning on leaving on Thursday morning and staying over night along the way anyway. As the time gets closer we can arrange a meeting place.

That would be great. We can meet at a restaurant out on CA99, which is the road we'll probably take that time of year, snow and closed passes and all.

Talking

Damn, ok you guys talked me into going tonight at Ted's house...

I'll see what I can do about a room. Thanks to all for the offer to share a room, but I prefer solo if possible.

Raffy, consider me signed up for a haul in your rig!

I just might a have a different bike to take along...

Great news, Hal. If the weather is as nice as last year we should be in for a great few days. You have definitely raised my curiousity level about the "different" bike.

OK, snagged a Cabin at the ranch. All set.

Dell, turns out I'm second in line to buy this mystery bike. Another HDDC member is in the first position, so we will see what happens.

I got the time off, so it looks like I can go. I'll be riding down on Thursday, with the other guys riding down. Does anyone have a spare bed for rent, or do I need to look for a room.
