Fort Bragg Ride Cancelled

I will not be able to put on the Fort Bragg ride this year. I've been trying for a month to get a block of rooms at the hotel but after multiple calls and promises to work with me they still haven't provided anything. At this point we'd be looking at sometime in October, and we know the weather can get pretty messy by then.

I think I may go up there in a couple of months after some work stuff clears up and see if I can sort out a new hotel and restaurant. It's become more challenging over the past few years to get our group accommodated, so may it's time to give our attention to some new folks! I'm really sorry about this. I'll make sure we have something next year, we all have too much fun together not to keep this going!

Thank you for your understanding.

The shortest distance between two points is for people who don't ride!

Re: Fort Bragg Ride Cancelled

Bummer
Will miss the gang, always a nice ride, may just have to go on our own.

Public has more cash this year and looks like most hotels in Ft Bragg are filling up without giving "block room" discounts.
Checked on the Oct 3-4 weekend and most places only have a few rooms open, even the Super 8.

Last year we visited the Beachcomer north of town and it has a great patio deck for visiting vs standing around in the parking lot and a nice walking path to the beach.
I'm sure it is more expensive (cost not the main factor for me) but it is Sold Out.

Thanks for your efforts.

Re: Fort Bragg Ride Cancelled

Could not miss out on the fall coastal weather so stayed at the Ft Bragg Travelodge Tuesday night to get my fill of Red Seal Ale at the Tap Room (Northcoast Brewery) on our way south from a 3400 mile loop around Glacier NP.

Appears the Travelodge has changed hands and everything painted up inside and outside.

Manager at front desk knew nothing of our BMW group or attempts to contact?

She also manages the Motel 6 and seemed nice, was even giving rooms to victims of the Valley Fire.

Guy who lost everything had moved to the Travelodge after a Marriott charged him $200 for 1st night and then tried to up it to
$300 for the 2nd night due to what they claimed was a corporate instruction.
Have not checked "social media" but hope this kind of gouging gets published and these corporate asshats get what they deserve.

Anyway, rooms now may be hard to come by due to fire victims needing housing but I still recommend the Travelodge as a convenient place to stay in Ft Bragg.
