Edee, I wish I had some direct information for you but any suggestion I coul offer directly would put you on I84 at Biggs Junction.

If I were you, I would PM Frank (fpmlt). He lives down in Les Schwab country in southern Oregon and he is the guru of the southern Oregon road system.

Now. I would stay on the coast. I lived in Boise for 3 years and it is freakin' hot there this time of year!

It sounds like you'll be staying in Brookings? If so, consider backtracking to Crescent City and ride Hwy 199 to Grants Pass. Just east of Crescent City the road turns into nice twisties through the Giant Redwoods - fabulous ride. From Grants Pass consider Hwy 234 through Gold HIll to Crater Lake National Park. If you have the time ride the rim drive all around the lake - spectacular. Most roads from Crater Lake east toward Boise are not direct as you will see from a map, but nice rides nevertheless. I suggest leaving Crater Lake NP on Hwy 138 and head east to Hwy 97. Then north along Hwy 97 to Bend and then east on Hwy 20 to Idaho near Ontario. There are options once you get near Ontario. Other options as well, but this might give you a place to start. Have a great ride.
