Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall - FINAL visit to the Northwest

Evidently the traveling Vietnam Wall will be making it's last visit to Portland coming up 9-12 November.

I don't post much, since I haven't been an 'active' rider for a few years now due to medical (getting better, but not fully recovered). Some of you 'more experienced' guys may remember me from times past.

I'm retired active duty Air Force, and just received an email from the President of the local (Portland) chapter of Air Force Sargeants Association about it, and wanted to pass it on to the Nor Wet folks. Attached is the ride release form, should you wish to participate in the Wall Escort Ride.

I couldn't get the images to load, but if you're interested in viewing, send me a PM with your email, and I'll be glad to forward the original email I got with them intact.

Please forward this communication to those who may benefit from it. I desire to reach as many veterans as possible so we can be certain they all have the opportunity to visit the Wall.

Thanks for posting this. I'm about 280 miles away and would make the trip. Where will it be set up?

edit: John, I clicked the "link" in the forwarded email and got the info I needed. Thanks again, I've wanted to see this for a very long time.

Re: Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall - FINAL visit to the Northwest

It is one thing to know that more than 50,000 men died and quite another to see all of the names. A very moving experience.

I've had the honor to jump into several opening ceremonies of the Moving Wall with the flag and it brings you to tears to see all of the names. Such a tragic loss to this nation.

If you haven't seen The Wall in Washington, the Moving Wall is a very close replica.
