Easter Egg Hunt

Rumor has it, there is a Easter Egg hiding and it appears even after many good hunts no one can seem to find her! It is certainly possible that this is just a rumor.

Re: Easter Egg Hunt

As I recall a certain someone may have purchased a blue two wheeler that may resemble and Easter egg in color. My way of saying we still haven't seen any cool pictures yet.

Wink Re: Easter Egg Hunt

OK, true rumor! I will see if I can't get the owner to post a pic or two. We just completed a 24K on it this weekend. All fluids, Oil & Air Filter, Valve check, shifter lube, Coolant flush, and some serious wiring corrections along with the Autocom install. The PO had grounded items all over the Bike by going to the frame. Obviously was not aware of the BMW Brown wire grounding system.

We still need to look into the Clutch, but that will wait a bit untill he has all the parts and we get up our courage to tackle it!

Talking Easter Egg Pics!

OK here is Art with his new LT!

The first one is how she looks after the 24K with a new C-Baily #2. The other two: "Ape Hangers" and "Barn Door Lowered" show the Windscreen the PO had installed, and which Art managed to look through all the way back up here! You cannot lower it enough to see over it.

I really think "Ape Hangers" brings out Art's inner feelings though! Eh?

Talking Re: Easter Egg Hunt

By the way, the color you see in the saddlebag in the first pic is not a cistom paint scheme. It's my bright red Colrado being reflected in the nicely polished paint!

Re: Easter Egg Hunt

thanks for posting. For some reason I cannot get my phone(camera) to connect to PC. It was a challenge to correct issues with this bike. Thankfully John had some previous knowledge of an LT I'm sure the previous owner felt that he'd made some great customizations, it was not MY bike. With John's help we managed to correct a bunch of miss-wiring and changed all fluids to have a baseline of service. The bike definitely needs a clutch and I'll be ordering parts shortly. Ernie offered to do the work but John and I will be venturing into unknown territory and doing it ourselves. John feels that it will be a great precursor to changing out the engine on his bike. Hey wait? That makes mine and experiment?????

Still, I feel that the price I paid plus the work done (and will be done) will be worth it and the bike will be a great 2 up bike for years to come. I just love the feel of it verses the GSA but I love the flexibility of the GSA and do not see getting rid of it any time soon

I do have a 2007 Kawasaki 900 for sale though if anyone is interested.

By the way the ginormous tank bag and windshield have been replaced. Looks more sleek as it should be.

Thumbs up Re: Easter Egg Hunt

Art, congratulations and what a great looking color. Before I purchased my bike Amy and I rented a bike down in AZ. Sure brings back some good memories of some great riding we both enjoyed.

Art, whats up with the hole in that tall windshield, and how did that feel on your long ride home? Also it looks like the previous owner drilled the odments box for the tank bag attachment but you could probably find one on ebay if needed.

John, thanks for helping Art out with taking some pictures so we all could join in on the excitement of a new LT amongst the gang. I especially like the one where Art looks like he is hanging on to a pair of ape hangers. It certainly looks like the previous owner took great care of the bike it's nice and shinny

My hat is of to you guys for getting ready to tear into that beast and replace the clutch. I would just like to mention that the only thing that was problem with my bike after a few miles was, the transmission output shaft seal kept leaking. The only way Ernie could keep it from leaking was to apply a thin coat of silicone to the outside perimeter of the seal before installing it into the transmission. I talked to several dealers and there are also doing this to prevent the seal from leaking. Best of luck guys and hope to see ya on the road soon, we are definitely due for a RTE.

Re: Easter Egg Hunt

The big holes are for vents that I had removed before heading home. I hated that windshield and had a new one ordered before even going to NorCal to get the bike. There had been a BagConnection tank bag on the bike. Big horseshoe receiver and heavy cable that had NOT been run under the tank. It just kind of flopped there. He had an extra oddments cover that he gave me and so that got replaced when we had it disassembled. I'm thinking that back would be perfect on the GSA and something more elegant (and smaller) for the LT. I think I need a co-pilot shelf on there for the 660. John gave me a BMW mount for the map light but it seems to be a bit far away and not a great angle. But clutch first and then farkle Matter of fact Jim at BMW shop called and said the rest of the parts are in. Thanks for the tip on silicone on the seal. Will make sure to do that.
