On Thursday, I went to Sunriver Oregon for the weekend and this morning I struck out on my first real day. I spent a lot of time planning the route on a mapquest because adjusting the routes was easy. I uploaded the 5 part route on my garmin zumo and loaded the first part and took off. Soooooo - Here I sit in Fruitland Idaho which is nowhere near where I wanted to go! So much for the route. I guess the Garmin took the info and did what it wanted! It looks as though I will be back to paper maps from now on to try and get back on track.

The day was somewhat uneventful with great weather except of a couple of minor items. I was passing a truck going about 80 pulling a Unigo trailer and I developed a terrible tail waggle that went on for about 300 yards until I got control of it! It was a "under short changing" experience! Then was the blinking road signs on 20 that told me that there was road construction and loose gravel for the next 31 miles! Well, that was just what I needed. Fortunately, it was old signs and the road was fine.

I'll strike out early tomorrow because its to be on the 90's and I paln on getting close to the Tetons soon.
Till Later
