Just got this from the Oregon State BMW Riders group -

Denny

To: Fellow BMW riders,
This coming Tuesday, July 6. PIR: Portland International Raceway.
Cascade Track time – Motorcycles. 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Couple of us are riding up from Eugene this coming Tuesday, July 6, to “ watch”, not participate. We are just going for a ride and attend this event. The track time is an event for folks who want to practice high speed and race. Once again, we are only going up to watch, sit in the stands and hang with our friends.
I have been told that the admission is “FREE.” Bring some money anyway.
No concessions or food. Was told that a fast food restaurant is across the street.
So, if your itinerary is slow for Tuesday and want something to do, head on over to PIR and watch some motorcycles run at over 120 mph.

Portland International Raceway is within the city limits of the City of Portland and is located just west off from the I-5 Freeway (exit 306-B), about 6 miles west of Portland International Airport, 2 miles south of Vancouver, Washington and about 3 miles north of downtown Portland.

Re: Pir

Denny,

Thanks for the fun day at PIR. I really enjoyed watching all of the bikes, especially the BMW of course. Here are a couple of the pictures I took: one of turn nine and one of the S1000RR as it went flying by.

I didn't think the BMW was worth mentioning given it only had a bit over 200 horses!! We did see a Tuscany Green LT there briefly and wondered if Ernie had joined us, but a quick look at the console trashed that thought - too few farkles and not nearly as nice as his!!

Great photos, Dan.,

Sorry we missed it! We are out on a ride on the central Oregon coast for Pauline's BD today. We'll be back in town on our fully farkled Tuscanny Green LT tomorrow night!

It seems to me that "fully" farkled is a dangerous statement, Ernie!!

Ride safe.....
