Red face Shake-down rides really suck

After installing the new clutch and final drive, I took the bike out for it's shake-down ride. For the first 10 miles I noticed the following:
1) Every bump in the road translated to a final drive failure
2) Every gust of wind was the clutch slipping
3) Having a death grip on the bars causes both wrists to lock up, and I had to pry my hands off the bars!

I finally relaxed and decided to put on some music. KISS was banging out some awesome tunes, and wouldn't you know it, no sound out of the rear speakers. Crap! I looked back only to discover that I'd removed the trunk - duh.
After settling down a bit, I engaged the cruise, and was riding with just finger-tips on the bars. I noticed a slight vibration through the fingers, so I removed the bars and sent them in to be balanced. All should be good now.
