Anyone going to Wing Ding in Billings?

Okay, I know this is not the GL1800 Chat Board. But, I still have a lot of Goldwing friends since I switched to the K1200LT.

I am just wondering if I am the only one who is going to show them what a true touring motorcycle is.

Been to 2 WingDings but have to work during this one. Still have my GL1800 (K1200GT on order). Keeping the wing for 2 up stuff and who knows what. Also, invested too much in farkling the Wing.

I did however enjoy Wing Ding. LOTS of Vendors ready to put on whatever you'd like to purchase. So as a Canadian it was nice to get stuff put on there and not have to worry about shipping it over the border. OF COURSE I declared it all when I went back . Also, lots of education stuff goes on, courses and classroom - listened to David Hough once (from Motorcycle Consumer News).

We'll be headed East on the 4th and miss the Wing Ding. Two weeks in WI and IL to include the BMW MOA International in West Bend, WI.(my wife's home town). The Wing Dingers will have a great time but I wouldn't recommend riding the Beartooth Highway to Yellowstone Park while they are in town. It's not as much fun at 35 mph in a long line of bikes.

For a really great time consider joining us for the August 16th-19th Beartooth Rendezvous hosted by the Beartooth Beemers. We have everything from GS off roading to GT twisties. Check our website out.

Fun but hot

Wing Ding was fun. I ran into many friends that still ride wings. The Vender Billies had everything under the sun. All good except for the record heat.

Some of their outfits were very interesting almost like a pajama party with 1980's zumas.

Lots of trikes and trailiers with something written on back like "on a wing and a prayer" or "Earl & Laura".

My wife (on her R1100RT) and I did Beartooth pass and Chief Joseph, some of the worlds best motorcycling roads. Fortunately we did not run into too many trikes that couldn't be blown away with a twist of the throttle. I know we scared more than one while passing.
