Cool Dry and Warm

Saturday's supposed to be fairly dry and warmer. Anybody thinking about a ride?

Denny,

I just found out a few minutes ago that I have to run up to Des Moines tomorrow morning. If anyone ends up going Sunday morning, please let me know.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Sunday Maybe

We are going to meet some friends and ride to have lunch. They have a new (to them) '03 Ultra Classic. Perhaps we will be in the same area and can meet up. Let me know when and where you are going to be riding. We were thinking to ride the east side of I-5 to Eugene and back up the west side.

Leave me a voice mail where you guys are going. Rob and Roxanne invited us to ride with them but I don't think they have a route picked out. Perhaps our paths will cross.

Thumbs up Good Day for a Ride!

We went out with our friends who ride an '03 Ultra Classic that they bought used and almost like new last November. They invited us along and we didn't know if other riders were going to be involved. It was a "Harley"ride for sure. No need for anything over 3rd gear if you know what I mean.

We made it a 230 miler down the east side of I-5 on some back roads to Silverton then on to lunch in Mill City. We had to herd some deer off a road on the early part of the trip, but the critters didn't want to become roadkill stew. A quick trip through Lebanon and Albany brought us up the west side of the Willamette river through Independence to Dundee then back west through Wilsonville and home. As you can see a successful ride to us is staying off the freeway.

No mishaps and plenty of sightseeing. There is a lot more to see in third gear than in 4th and 5th.

Thats why I like following you, You know all the twisties! You did pretty good getting 230 miles out of them this time of year. Sorry I could not make it. I need all the beauty sleep I can get these days. I am starting to get hungry for some more of that Long Beach clam chowder, Maybe next weekend? Denny has been pretty much everywhere on this continent except doogers. I bet we can tempt him.

We like riding with you too. Lots of fun in the twisties and great places to eat. Long Beach is a good pick. We have to make a trip up to Ride West or South Sound soon for some riding gear. Perhaps we can make that Olympic Peninsula trip we've been wanting to make for the last three years. BTW: Thanks for the Pelican box. I'm going to see what I can do to make that fit on my mounting bracket.

Won't take much tempting for me. A chance to watch you on the GT would just about do it.

Yeah, Ernie's a great ride leader.

I'm planning on going to a LD RTE in Mt. Vernon, OR on March 10th. So maybe Sunday the 11th would work for chowder? Or perhaps the weekend of the 17th/18th?

Sunday the 11th would work for me, The next weekend I'll be in NM. Ernie, You would probably be better off waiting another month or two to do the olympic loop so you can detour up to hurricane ridge. I am sure we will get er done at least once or twice this year.

Actually, the 11th works better for me as well.

It looks like there's some possibility of rain this weekend, but that's about normal for the Great NorthWet. At least there won't be any ice on the roads, or rental cars for that matter.

Perhaps we can break away from weekend chores to ride the SwanSong ride for you and your LT. It might be an event in and by itself. We'll follow the smell of your exhaust and see if we can keep up.

Ken,
FYI, Lisa just changed the Mt Vernon RTE to the 31st.
What is the current arrival date of your new steed? I assume that you will have it by then!

I saw that, but thanks for pointing it out.

The GT should be at my dealers this week, but I'm back up here working and won't be able to get away for another couple of weeks . . .
