Rats. I'm helping my mother move (pretty much now through the end of the month).

BTW, is Seattle-ish to Cannon Beach for lunch considered a standard RTE among LT riders?

I'm definitely not in the 40 MPH to the DQ set, but my usual radius for lunch would be more like 100 miles. Maybe now that I have the LT it will get a bit wider.

Just wonderin'.

If you look at the map and don't care where you are, you're not lost.

Your in a new league now, You have to up the ante a bit. You have a LDLT. (Long distance luxury tourer) Sounds like a great RTE Clayton but im going to have to pass on this one. I will be riding a "moped" around Cozumel.

Jim,
I go to an all inclusive on the south side of the island. Great food and free flowing libations... All free! It has a real nice beach right outside my room. I will be diving 2-3 times a day and then mostly kicking back watching the sun set with a big old stogie. I do plan on renting a cage or moped for and island tour so I can check out the damage from the 2 big hurricanes that hit last year.
Clayton, Sorry for the detour of your post, Look at it as a free free ride back to the top of the list! Ken,Ernie, John, and the rest of you southern guys, How bout it? Sound like a good excuse for a ride to me. That Miami river road ought to be nice this time of year.

Cool

The weather man says Saturday looks pretty good, so I'm up for a little exercise for the LT. Where do you want to rendezvous?

Anyone else interested in the Vancouver/Portland area?

A ride to the coast does sound good (as long as we aren't pelted by rain the entire time). The forecast looks good for Saturday, so count me in. Where do you want to meet?

Angry Unfair!

Yep, it's just plain unfair Dan! I was contemplating getting some work on the Bike done this weekend, and then you go and bring up Dairy Queen and Blizzards. How's a guy supposed to ignore something like that? I guess I'm in tentatively. Depends on my maint inspection I'll get done with tomorrow.

Stay tuned!

This weekend is looking a bit busy, again. But, It looks like a ride to Lincoln City for lunch at Moe's, or Pelican Pub in Pacific City might be in order on Sunday. It looks like Saturday might be the best day, but we're already committed.

The Pelican Pub on Sunday sounds good, Ernie. Maybe I'll even remember to bring that box from Brian.

Saturday sounds like fun too, but I'll be doing an oil change and some minor maintenance myself. I do have a delivery for Denny, not sure how best to get it to you?

Yes, I know John; that was hitting below the belt (or would that be above the belt?). Anyway, I'm playing dirty only because I would enjoy seeing you guys. Hope you can make it.

Meet me at the Dairy Queen in Scappose!! If you change your mind and come along on Saturday we could do it then. If not, no hurry to get the cable from Brian. Are you coming to the RDC on the 24th?

I'll be in Vegas on the 24th , so I'll miss the RDC.

I'm heading to my local independent BMW shop (Hi, Ernie ) around noon Saturday, which is probably just when you guys will be DQ'ing. But I do know where Scappoose is. Maybe y'all should go for a nice, long ride in the morning, and meet there for an afternoon snack. Say around 2 p.m. or later?

I would like to join ya Clayton, but, Saturday I'm working and Sunday is already full. You keep up the good work for trying to get this NW group out and about. As the days get longer and a bit drier, I tend to be prone to long(ish) rides. I don't think twice about going from Oly to Yakima to grab some fresh in season veggies or fruit for the evening meal. It is only about 400 miles round trip. Maybe next time.

Sounds like everyone who's interested is heading for DQ. Not sure where it is and just want to clarify no one's interested in going to Cannon Beach before I make my plans .

Just didn't want to leave anyone high and dry with out one last post.

The DQ thing is inside humor between Dan and I and apparently John. Cannon Beach or another point on the coast sounds just fine to me - I don't know about the others? We just need to agree on where to meet for the last leg of the ride to lunch. Since you're coming from Newcastle - ideas about place and time?

Clayton,

Thanks for getting us thinking about a ride tomorrow. The reference to DQ is just a little joke as a number of us (don't tell Debbie) have a weakness for Blizzards. No matter where I am riding, I have trouble passing up a DQ.

Lunch somewhere on the coast sounds great. I take it that you will be coming down 101. A suggested meeting place could be Ilwaco as it is not far from where we might be hitting 101. How about 11:30 - 11:45 am at:

Don's Portside Cafť/Pizzeria
Corner of 1st and Main - Ilwaco
360-642-3477

First ones there can grab a cup of coffee or whatever. After we meet up we can go down the coast and pick a place for lunch.

For the Vancouver/Portland folks, how about meeting at around 8:30 - 8:45 am at:

Roseís Restaurant & Bakery
838 NW 23rd
Portland, OR 97210
503-222-5292

I'll be there when they open at 8:00 selecting a cinnamon roll for breakfast.

What do you think?

Good Ride - Great Icecream

Denny, John, Oscar and I met up with Clayton in Kelso for a nice ride on Saturday. It was great to get out on the bikes. You had a long day by the time you got home, Clayton. I hope the return trip went OK. I couldnít believe all the traffic on the coast. You would have thought that it was a summer weekend.

Iím here to report that I saw Denny and John pass by a few DQís. No, really they did. I admit it was quite painful for me. These guys are tough, however, and I told them so when we stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory.

Hope everyone can make it to the RDC this coming Saturday in Washougal. See you there.

Dan

Talking Trip home

It was a great day , the only problem the day was way to short. Total miles for the day only 503. Weather was dry all way home but down poured 15 min after I got home.

Clayton.

Clayton -

How did you arrange the rain holding off until after you got home? You should hire out for weather management. Good day Saturday.
