Clam Chowder run

Ever since Dan hooked me up with that awesome clam chowder In Long beach I have wanting to go back for more. This weekends weather is looking really good. Anyone interested? Doogers is the place.

That was good chowder. Most chowders I have had remind me of school paste.
I'm tied up Fri and Sat, so those days are out for me.
Between yesterday and today I have been able to get a couple of hundred miles in and still don't need to clean bugs off the windshield.

Intl MC Show or Chowder and ride. Rain likely in BC and sunny and warm Long Beach. I'm thinkin' here...

Darrel I hope you can make it again I hope the weather holds so we can all go! Today was supposed to be nice but was cold and rainy instead.
Ernie, That would be great if you and pauline can make it. How about the rest of the gang? I have lots of chores to do but thats for rainy days!

I'm thinkin' maybe chowder on the way up to South Sound for Clement Salvadori's talk on Saturday evening. Too bad my bike is still south. Maybe I'll take the rental car up, or borrow my roommate's bike. I'm afraid that if I carpool up with someone, I may end up riding home on a GT . . .

Talking

Yeah we're out here Brian! Sorry if it seemed like otherwise, but some of us are still working ya know! Sat is out for us, but Sun may be doable, depending on a lot of other things. I am flying down to Ok City Monday for a weeks worth of official "input" at the Academy, so I need to make sure I'm ready to go Sunday evening.

(Raises hand)

The problem is that it's buried way the heck down on the page in small print after the dealer fora.

It would be nice to be able to customize one's view of the board to select what order the fora appear in and even the number of threads shown for each forum in the list, not just the most recent.

(Or were you talking specifically about NW forum?)

We are both feeling under-the-weather, but hoping tomorrow might bring on good weather and a ride. If not Saturday then Sunday for sure.

Darrel,
Want to meet at the same place at 11am? If I am not iced in I should make it on time. That would get us to Doogers around 12:30. Will that work for Ernie and John?

Unhappy

Sorry I didn't get back sooner Brian. Company dropped in on short notice (can you say NO notice?). Plus I'm hopping on the jet tomorrow for Ok City and still got a few things to take care of around here. If I did get up there it would probably be too late.

Enjoy the sunny weather and have one for us! Hope Jeff can make it so you two can compare the GT's!

Brian,
I am planning on joining you all.

John,
Sorry you can't join us. I am sure that it will be warmer in OK. LOL

Ernie,
Shall we meet up somewhere enroute? I was thinking maybe 30 to Longview and then cross to 4 and out thru Cathlamet. Give me a call on my cell, 503-358-6973.

Brian, I'm gonna bail out on this one. It is still in the 20's and foggy here. I'm not gonna take the chance of black ice. We are going to wait for it to warm up a bit and see about a ride after the roads thaw.

Darrel,
You were right about it being cold and frosty. I think your wife would not have appreciated the white pavement at times. Unfortenately I did not see your message because I left around 9am. I had to wait for you since you had so patiently waited for me last time. I was actually early this time too. Ken was with me and he brainstormed around my GT for ideas for when his arrives. I was glad for the stop so I could drink a hot cup of coffee and wait for the frost to melt off the roads. It worked out well because the roads were better and we all arrived within minutes of each other. We'll catch you next time.
As for the rest of ya, It was great to see you again. Ernie, Sorry I spaced out and forgot the radar box! I think it stinks that we all had to plan our route by the criteria of which road would have the least amount of ice. How long till summer???

From the PDX Airport gang, wish I coulda been there! Looks like a great time was had by those that made the run. Next time we hope to be among those few!

On my way to Ok City. We'll check out the list from our hotel tonight.

Brian,
Thanks for organizing. It was great to get out. Hope your ride home had a lower "pucker" factor.

Ken,
It had to kill you to be in a cage. Hope that your dealer has good news on the timing of your "new steed". Missed you riding back with us.

Ernie,
Always enjoy riding with you and Mark, even though this time the "shady spots" slowed the pace a bit...except of course when Mark and I took off up the hill at Cornelius Pass Road .

Good to see everyone!

Brian, I guess I owe you and Ken a bowl of chowder for waiting on me. Sorry for not sending that message sooner. Ever hopeful that it would warm up down here, it didn't get above freezing until after 11am.

We did get out on the bike in the afternoon, but had issues with the wife's seat heater and the canbus not wanting to let Linda be as warm as she wants. We eventually got it all sorted out after a couple of stops. I need to figure out how to install a fuse block and add a couple of additional outlets. ("I need more power Scotty")

Hopefully we will get another chance to get out before the weather turns nice for the year.

Crab Salad RTE

Group,

One of these times the group needs to check out the Crab Salad in Bay Center - an old subject of discussion from years past. Bruce Yates discovered this great little place while he was checking out "Bruceport" Washington. I know that the place has changed names and owners - but it is still attached to the seafood distributor next door. I believe the old name was the Blue Heron Inn - but it is the only place in Bay Center. We used to discuss a ride but it never developed. Maybe Bruce can comment if he is still around.

Sounds like a good place Steve. See what you can find out and maybe we can make a go of it.

Darrel,
I added another powerlet next to the canbus one for my heated gear. The canbus one is not rated for heated clothes. Wired directly to the battery with an inline fuse. can also be used for charging the battery with a standard battery charger.
