International Motorcycle Show This weekend

Just over the US border in Abbotsford BC - at the tradex center near the Sumas, WA border crossing
http://www.sportshows.ca/VanCycle/visitor.htm

In years past this has been a real fun show because there are bikes there that are not sold in the US. Also, the canadian shows seem to have this years new bikes before the US shows.

Steve, thanks for the post!
An overnight trip to BC? Sounds like fun to me, however the forecast of a high of 35 might not appeal to my passenger. I'll see if Saturday will work.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Ernie,

I will probably be going up early Sunday morning and returning that afternoon. It's a little bit closer to Olympia than Portland. At this time, I am probably taking the MINI - at least it is made by BMW - or I could take one of the Suzukis (bike or car) or the other BMW - LT.

Jeff,

Had a GREAT time - looking at all the bikes! Not as much new/different than the Seattle show mainly since BMW had all the new bikes in Seattle for the first time. I sat on the new Concourse and a couple of KTM road bikes. There were also a LOT of Asian bike manufacturers that do not sell in the US - mostly scooters but a couple of real bikes as well. Took lots of pictures and talked to a lot of people. Gary Egan was there with his record setting Ducati Multistrata and was answering questions about his many Iron Butt rides. Ducati sponsors him. I'm not sure what bikes are not sold in the US but there were several muscle bikes that looked mean - along the lines of the K1200R.
Glad I went in the MINI - When I got there my headlights were coated in ice from the frozen fog - although the roads seamed dry. I pre purchased tickets online and got there a few minutes before it opened. Parked against the fence at the front door and walked in without having to stand in the long ticket line. Enjoyed a nice leisurely back road ride home WA-9. Would have liked to have been on the bike on the way home but was glad I was in the MINI on the way there.
