Nice weather huh...

I did my 26 mile drive to work this morning and must have seen 500 semi's on the side of the highway. Mostly parked. But saw another 500 cars left abandoned in the middle of the roadway or on exit ramps and everywhere in between, Or just spun out. I-5 was a icerink. Had some friends leave the Seahawk game last night and not make it home until 5am! I did see some poor soul on a BMW bike this morning. I think it was a RT.He was in the median and parked(okay). I tried to get over and offer a ride to him but could not do so safely. I was thinking he did not make a very good decision this morning when he decided to ride. Are you ready for round 2 tomorrow?

We have had mild weather so far here on the north coast. But they're calling for cold and snow by the weekend. Here we go...oh joy!

Cool

Snow (OK, small amounts) in Portland and even along the Oregon coast! After living in Colorado for 30 years I'm sometimes amused by the hype that TV stations seem to attach to the weather - almost any weather.

The RT rider is probably still thinking about his decision!

Garage
It's been in the 60's and dry all week. But I'll be heading back north soon enough.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

The snow is not the problem but that ice was nasty up here today.

I did see the news coverage of your ice cover up there - looked nasty.

Our Turn Thursday

It looks like it will be our turn Thursday. I had to take doubles up to Seattle Sunday night. We ran out of drivers and supervisors were put on the road. I squeeked out the trip north with a dusting of snow from Olympia to Fife, but the return was ice and snow from Lacy to Kelso. What a wreak on the northbound side of I-5! A semi plowed through the barrier and ended up on the southbound side tipped over. It had just happened and I drove over spilled fuel and ice to get around it while the authorities arrived. I made it home by 5:30 unscathed. It is looking like Portland will get the same treatment Thursday. More driving is in store since we had about 20 drivers lay over up in Seattle last night and some more tonight because of a lack of driving hours. Man this weather sucks! I hope I can make it Saturday, but now time will tell.
