WSBMWR rally - Menlo July 27 - 30

The Washington State BMW riders state rally is this week. Once again it is in the Pacific County town of Menlo - near Raymond. Lots of food on site, nice camping area, etc. We will be there manning the free refreshment stand. This is usually a great rally - lots of things to do and it should be "cool" as in temperature! Hope to see some of you there!

We will be there Thursday Afternoon - 4 bikes , 3 LT's and 1 VStrom 1000 coming over from the Eastside via White Pass -

Have not attended previously - Looks like there will be plenty of food and may not have to camp cook much if at all..

* Do the camp sites have Cooking pits and Picnic benches? *Or is it open field camping?
* Camping under some Shade? It is HOT-HOT-HOT over here now, looking forward to a tent under some shade and cold beer !

*Projected numbers of attendance?

*Anything else we should know or ask?

Looking forward to heading out early Thursday Morning

Let's see

No pits or benches - It is open field camping with trees around the edges.

Temp forcast is low in the mid 50s high in the mid 70s - So think coast - cool - you may even want to bring long sleeve shirts.

Entry into rally provides food Friday and Saturday night - BBQ Chicken, Salmon. There will also be a beer garden and food vendors all days also all the coffee and cold water and iced tea/lemonaid you can drink provided.

Around 250-300 were there last year should be a few more this time around because of the great success last year with the food & beer. There is also a local grocery store adjacent to the fairgrounds - think country store - supplies, ice, beer, etc.

Look at a map - riding to the coast is a must - look into Long Beach and Westport. Local chamber info at

http://www.visit.willapabay.org/ North County and
http://www.funbeach.org/ South County

http://www.wsbmwr.org

Look us up in the refreshment area when you get there - Probably will have to leave the LT at home and use the cage to bring the supplies.

The rally was great. The food and company were great. There were about a dozen LT's . Topdog and his wife won a few prizes with their fancy riding skills, I'll let him chime in with his side of the story.
Thanks goes to Steve for a job well done. I met a lot of good people and look foward to the next one.

Hey Brian,

We headed out up towards Discovery Bay to the WA 20 to come east - But the nonstop rain had us stopped & struggling without rain gear and wondering about our route choice? By Olympia we pondered at the local Starbucks. We flipped a coin and headed up to Auburn via Tacoma traffic and a MC wreck that slowed the already bad rainy tie up via the 5 to the 18 to Snoqualmi & Home!

Got in @ 1800 rummy tired and weary but still smiling!
