Motorcycle Insurance for Canada

Guys,

I am planning to head to Montreal tomorrow with the bike ( for the weekend ) but forgot to ask the insurance policy if they are covering me for the weekend in Canada ...

Insurance is "Aegis First" but can't ask them until tomorrow morning ... I am about to book the hotel ....

See? Procrastination does not pay

Any idea ? Would it be valid?

Last time that I checked having a US Insurance card was not good enough for Canada. You need to have something that states your coverage limits. I will be taking my policy coverage sheet and the cover sheet that says my policy is valid in all 50 states and all provinces of Canada. I have progressive.

In Canada our insurance is good for all of Canada and the US. You need a special rider policy for driving in Mexico. I can't see that it would be different for you in the US.

Re: Motorcycle Insurance for Canada

You guys were right, thank you!

There was no need for different insurance paper. The one from here works in Canada as well.

BTW, F1 in Montreal was fantastic!

Re: Motorcycle Insurance for Canada

FWIW: While U.S. insurance covers you in Canada, it's useful to request from your U.S. carrier a Canada-specific proof of insurance. There's no charge--both Dairyland and USAA (covering my bikes and my truck) responded quickly--but it's a small effort for additional peace of mind.
