Head Light Replacment (WTH)

Good Morning,

Well, spent most of the morning removing the Tupperware. I found the headlight buried under the plastic. But, its not a H7 or it doesnot look like the one I brought to replace.
Anyway I am Unble to removde the bulb? Is it just pull or is there a release some where on the connector? any Help would be Greatly Appreciated!

Re: Head Light Replacment (WTH)

Arthur,

That looks like a HID upgrade. The stock headlight on an 05 was not HID and that may be the reason your new H7 bulb isn't the same.

John,

Thanks for the reply! disconnected the bulb and seeking replacement. Once again thanks, I should be riding right about now, but a little light would be better at night..

Re: Head Light Replacment (WTH)

That is definitely an HID and you can replace it with a standard 'stock' lamp but you will not be happy with the results. HIDs usually last a long time. You may have another problem. Be careful there is a lot of voltage there. No longer 12v.. To use a standard lamp you will need to uninstall the HID..

Re: Head Light Replacment (WTH)

Hello Jack,

It has been determined I have a bad Ballast, searched local area(s) NH & MA for replacement with no joy. Decided to purchase new system and remove previous owners
install. I found HID kit from here http://www.1offmotorsports.com for the K1200LT.

But, I did enjoy the drill of removing the tupperware this time no hardware leftover..LOL
Since, Jenny has only one eye open no night riding for awhile..

Enjoy your day and thanks for the reply!

Glad to know there is light at the end of the tunnel!
HID is the way to go and you would not like the output of the stock light, as stated above.
