So, Who will be the first?

To move up to a K1600GTL? Like many others, I plan on getting in a test ride or two as soon as they make them available. I would probably wait at least a year should I decide to purchase. Let BMW get the bugs out first.

Re: So, Who will be the first?

My LT will be paid for in two years, then I will look at the GTL. So I am looking at the spring of '13. Of course it will depend on what my LT is worth at that time.

Re: So, Who will be the first?

I'll have my LT paid off by the first of the year. I'm thinking it may be worth the wait to see how things work out with the economy however. I'll probably ride the LT for quite a while yet..........but I think the test ride would be a fun time...............

Re: So, Who will be the first?

I would like BMW to bring back the lease program. My 2002 LT was no money down, 0.9% and $258 a month for 5 yrs. Such a Deal!

Don't really see it as a "move up" - looks like a great bike with great features, but doesn't fall in the Goldwing (!), LT class of tourers, IMO. That, and I don't really care to "learn" another bike like my LT - the LT has been bulletproof, I really like it and its got (at least) another 100K in it.

That, and I must be in one of those midlife anti-complication moods. A buddy just completely tore down the top end of his /75 in less time than it takes me to change the fluids on any of my bikes. The wiring harness on these new bikes must resemble that of the space shuttle! No more "bigger, better, faster, more, for this luddite!
