New Hampshire riders: It is that time of year again.

Rep Judith Day is at it again.

This time she has introduced two bills:

this one would implement a helmet law
http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/bill...ssionyear=2010

this one would restrict noise levels to 80 db
http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/bill...ssionyear=2010

I have already written to my legilatures about this.

I always wear my helmet, and loud bikes simply annoy me, but I am against any laws like these.

Actually, as we move closer and closer to a communistic/socialistic society you may want to rethink your position. As a conservative/libertarian I have always believed passing laws to protect people from their own dumb behavior was an abomination. I believe in individual responsibility and natural selection. However, as we move to Obamacare we will be our brother's keeper. No matter how ill-equipped any individual is to continue, others will pay and they will procreate. What a frightening thought. The moron who rides without a helmet, has never checked his ride and has ear splitting pipes will eventually end up on the side of the road and you will pay for his medical car, rehabilitation, his disability through Social Security and his children. Perhaps we should force helmets for our own financial protection. It is no more ridiculous than the seat belt laws.

That being said, we will also pay for your care should you ever run out of luck, have a bad year or simply no longer be able to afford to pay for your own medical care for whatever reason.

That's not natural selection or socialism, that's solidarity.

If you haven't seen the movie "Idiocracy", check it out. Funny at first, but then you realize: holy cow, this is happening right now.

+1 on the Idiocracy movie...so true, so sad!

Without the bill number it was impossible for me to find the particular bills that you were referring to. Man, that person has their names on a lot of crap! I did find some humor in HB83: Title: relative to ownership of milk.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobobomy!

Sorry to correct you, but that's not solidartity, that's communism and that hasn't proved to be all that successful over the years.
Why would you think that it is LUCK that allows me to provide for my family? Perhaps it is hard work, intellect and an unwillingness to have you pay for me and my family's needs. A few principles you may want to embrace, or perhaps, you would like to send me a check for $1200/month to pay for my family's health insurance? If so, send me a private message and I'll give you my address to send your check. It is due by the 25th of the month.
This is your opportunity to convert a non-believer.
