Off we go again

Apparently Valerie enjoyed the Ride VT so much, she planned a trip to Virginia Beach for this weekend. Thank you Curtis and Gerard, I think we've created a monster. Leaving Sat. to Atlantic City (to amuse me). Then off to VB for a few days taking the Cape May ferry. Then back to AC (once again to amuse me), then back home. The scoot is running great and my ham string, which I injured at our last group stop on last Sunday when I dropped my baby (thankfully Curtis was not around to see or take a pic) is pretty much healed.

Thank you all again for a great weekend.

Cool Re: Off we go again

Have a great and safe trip! Do you have a route planned yet? If not, might I suggest crossing the Hudson at the Bear Mt Bridge and then riding down Rt 202? Garmin file attached.

Re: Off we go again

Thank you all for the best wishes. We'll take some pics and post upon our return.

My plan while stopping in AC is to pay for the trip. We'll see how that works out

Re: Off we go again

Val and I got back late Wed. What a great ride. The trip to Atlantic City was a bit difficult with the NYC traffic, but arrived in AC safe and ready to play. Didn't do too well that eve. Left for Virginia Beach first a.m. What a nice ride (240 miles). We loved the 16 mile Cape May Ferry and the 20 mile Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel. Rte. 13/113 was a pleasant road. The weather was great, 84 degrees and sunny. The ocean temp was about 78 and the water was beautiful. On the ride back we hit a small t-storm in MD (BTW, Curtis, the tires do protect against lightning strikes ). Had great success in Atlantic City which paid for the trip. Pics to follow.

Thank you all for your best wishes.

Re: Off we go again

George,
Did you have to do anything special with the bike on the ferry?

I have taken the ferry many times to cross into Delaware. You take in the bike first, you park on the side stand while you back up to the rail and they place a wooden block in your front tire.

No problems. I have done 5 round-trip passes with them.

Thanks,
Spiros

Re: Off we go again

The ferry ride was wonderful. You must be careful backing the scoot to the rail on the boat as the rear tire will NOT brace against the rail without banging the top case into the side. The rail does not stick out far enough. The deck crew, fortunately, stopped me prior to a costly error. Great trip - great ride.
