Lzyellodog,

I found a site that I was able to make a ticker:

It's not an LT, but it does look like Vermont

Re: Count Down timer to the 2009 VT BBD Ride

Anyone want to start planning this years ride? Do we have a date in mind yet? My MSF schedule comes out on Monday and I would like to plan around that.

OK suggestion #1:

1) Meet on Friday in Brattleboro. (I suggest staying at the Ramada, but whatever floats your boat!)

2) Ride over to Lake Champlain and take the Larabees Point ferry over to NY and tour Fort Ticonderoga

3) Stay somewhere in the Adirondack park... maybe Lake Placid?

4) Ride South on Sunday through the Adirondacks and end up at RT 87/ RT 90

Fire away!

Sounds like a nice ride. In.

To all,

That is Memorial day weekend. Traffic might suck but I am for whatever you guys want to do. I like the idea of expanding into other States too.

If that is Memorial day weekend then I would suggest a different date. We want the roads to ourselves!

Re: Count Down timer to the 2009 VT BBD Ride

Yeah, Memorial Day weekend isn't good.
Every year I suggest either Memorial Day weekend or the week of Americade before it gets sorted out, so much for my planning skills.
New York, Adrondacks, Catskills, and exploring Fort Ti, sounds good, some very nice riding over there, just don't call it "Ride Vermont" ; I'll just sit back and let the group take the planning from here......

Thought I'd kiskstart this thread again. After spending countless hours performing indepth research (okay, three minutes with google), Memorial day is May 31st, Americade is June 6th through 12th, and Bike week is June 12th through 20th. I have not found what weekend the Minuteman 1000 is, but if I were to guess, I would say the weekend of June 6th.

I have no interest in Americade, and will not be doing the Minuteman this year, so that weekend is fine with me. Don't really want to travel with the crowds on Memorial day weekend, it is also harder to get a room for just one night that weekend.

Not sure how early we want to push back into May, as it could be a little chilly up north, but we could also go the weekend of May 22nd.

Re: Count Down timer to the 2009 VT BBD Ride

As of right now I'm open all those weekends. The weekend of June 6th will probably be best, I think. Everybody else will be at Americade, so we'll have the roads to ourselves!
