Maine European Motorcycle Enthusiasts

10th Annual MEME.
July 23,24,25,26

Lots of sport bikes, classic bikes, BMWs. I have attended this event many times and always enjoyed it. A few vendors, not a bike event, but fun folks and great roads. This event is right in spinedr's back yard, one year he showed us some really nice roads. (Don't tell the HD riding Texas Chick, but he was riding in kind of a "spirited" way . Nice accomodations at the site hotel (or you could stay cheap by tenting in spinedr's driveway )

Seriously, if you are looking for an excuse to go for a ride, and want nice accomodations and comrades at the destination, take a look at this event.

It would be fun to do it again, get together at the rally eat some good food and ride with old friends and new friends. Maybe we can do Mt. Washington, ride through NH, Maine and Rangeley Lakes. Could be another BBD’s get together and ride opportunity. I live 20 miles away from Bethel, if anyone needs a place to set up a tent or a place to stay . I also have a cement pad to park motorcycles. We are going to have a great time this summer

Reservation line now open

Here's the headquarters hotel website:
http://www.sundayriver.com/Lodging/J...tel/index.html
Here are the numbers for the room reservations:
1-800-207-2365
84R83P is the group number.
$99 for standard or studio rooms and
$129 for one bedroom suites

Very nice hotel, much better than spinedr's driveway.
In past years the dealers have shown up with Triumphs, Ducatis, Urals, etc. on display. There is always a collection of vintage bikes ridden up for the meet, some are real classics. The dirtiest, leakiest, road worn BSA I have ever seen showed up there one year. Old Beemers, new Beemers, an occasional KLT make the scene. Lots of sport bikes.
Nice bar and food on site at the hotel.
Raffle and fund raiser for charity. Some pretty good prizes in past years too; helmets, riding gear, etc.
Great riding. Past years we have ridden to the top of Mt. Washington as well as tearing the pavement off lots of great roads they have up there.

Here are some more pics from an earlier meet:

Re: Maine European Motorcycle Enthusiasts

It seems the link to the MEME Forum stopped working. Here's another one: http://www.eurobikemaine.org/cgi-bin...num=1218676144

If that doesn't work go to http://www.eurobikemaine.org/mememeet.html and then scroll down to the MEME Forum link, when on the forum site scroll down to events for msgs and updates about the 10th Annual.

Re: Maine European Motorcycle Enthusiasts

Time to resurrect this thread. BBDs and others who need an excuse to go for a ride should consider this.

Nice accomodations and good riding country.

Nice riding for all riding styles and types of riders.
There are a bunch of Trumpet, Duck, April riders.... these folks are "spirited".

MEME video on u-tube, check it out:

That is a cool video Muchacho That is the weekend after NC / TN I hope we can get plenty of representation from this board and the BBD's. Who is in to go and get some good conversation, food and riding in the woods of Maine and NH. We can get some new stories other than the 911 call that is going to be hard to beat

Wow! Watch that video.... if your adrenaline doesn't get pumped just watching that, you must be dead.

"SIT BACK and enjoy the last three laps of the best MotoGP race we've seen in years."

Yeah, that is a very exciting last 3 laps. Well worth watching. THANKS for posting.

No, we're not quite THAT "spirited".

Charlie, what do you think? Bethel to Fryeburg via 113, then 16, all the way to Mt. Washington climb, Down, 16 to Errol NH to Oquossoc, 17 to high of the land, Rumford and 2 to Bethel. That is a nice ride for a good day also we can do this one day we are free after riding with the spirited group or any time. Good times in two wheels

Lots of good roads in there.
Suggestions: Mt Washington early in the day before the 4 wheel traffic picks up. Auto road opens at 7:30. Is that too early?

If we do a run down 113 (I love that road), maybe a detour around N. Conway. I added Bear Notch Road as a detour around North Conway ( I hate N. Conway traffic! ).

For sure, we want to do the run up to Rangley Lake on 16 and back on 17.

We're gonna have fun.

You are right Feels like long time ago but is one of the good memories from a wonderful first trip with a bunch of wild muchachos. Each trip has lots of good different memories and new friends. Most funny of trip one Charlie dumping bike with HD looking, second is OIL Spill, and last Jvalny making funny noises during someones phone call during dinner. And more to come, now lets make more memories during the MEME and MOA with the BBD's

Charlie, are you going to the MEME, I do not have dinner tickets, can we get them at the door? I have been so busy with MOA and my wife getting a new job 150 miles away. Are we getting together?
