MAX BMW in North Hampton, NH should be one option you consider for service.

Re: NEW Member

Welcome!
Yeah, Max BMW is your closest BMW service.
Lots of folks have an aftermarket manual (Clymer I think).
Bookleg CDs can be found on eBay for cheap (not sure I want to endorse their practice of copyright violation though).
I have the BMW service manual which was the only thing available when I got it. I suspect the Clymer is a better deal.
I am sure there are lots of online vendors for the manual, search around in here and you are sure to find a link.
If you want a tech session sometime after warmup, we could do one here (Just across the CT River from Keene).

Enjoy the ride, good choice!

Re: NEW Member

Welcome...

You're gonna love the LT, and this site!!!

Just so you know, occasionally she wants to lay down and take a nap (not a matter of if, but when). When she does, DO NOT try to prevent it! Once she starts going, you'll only hurt yourself trying to keep her up, and she'll probably lay down anyway.

Do what you can to lay her down gently, without getting hurt - she's a heavy girl!

HI and welcome to NE. I am in Derry and take my 2000 LT to Second Wind BMW in Merrimack, NH. Just south of you off of 101A. They do great work. We will have to get together for a ride, when the white stuff finally decides to leave.

Oh, I forgot about 2nd Wind. Yeah, they must to easier to get to from Manchester. Nice to have a couple of BMW dealers within striking distance when so many folks are more then 100 miles away.

Welcome. I second Max. I bought two bikes from him.My first was the 05 LT. The second is a GS. They have always done right by me. I like the fact that they will pick up and deliver the bikes for service. Makes getting winter service a breeze. I sent my LT in last Jan or so for 12K service in the middle of a snow storm.

Well you should consider the BBD ride in MAy. It is always fun and usually pretty entertaining.

Re: NEW Member

Welcome to the site. I used to ride an LT, but have switched to an RT. Both are outstanding rides. I live in Amherst, so I frequent Second Wind BMW a lot. I think they are an outstanding dealership and one of the biggest reasons I went with BMW. I live no more than fifteen minutes from a Harley, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and BMW dealerships, so I had plenty of choices. Four years in and I'm more certain than ever that I made the right choice. Hope to see you on the road !

Re: NEW Member

Hi, welcome to the site, you are going to love the LT, it is a great bike. I live in Maine so if you come this way let me know and we can ride together. My wife and I ride every weekend to a destination. This area is great for bikes and the view is superve. I bought two bikes from Max an LT and my GT now and had a bad experience with them. I will never go back to them, but they do have a good service department. Now I go to Street Cycles in Falmoth ME and they are doing a good job with my service and they pick up and deliver for service. Sounds that second wind is closer to you for service and well recomended. I hope you join us with the BBDs get together and the European rally in Bethel. Last time we had a great time and ride through NH and Maine. Curtis took us to the top of Mount Washington and I took the group to Rangly lakes in Maine. We might do it again this year and like to meet you and your SO.

+1 for Max, they are pretty easy folks to deal with that's for sure!
And a +1 for joining the BBD ride, it's always nice to get to meet everyone.

Keep your eyes open for tech days, we're usually good for at least one or two a summer, and they are a HUGE help!

Re: NEW Member

To all,

Thanks for the advise and the best wishes! I look forward to mtg and riding with you all during this season. I plan to ride in the BBD and do some touring in Maine. At first will just do some local cruising to adjust to my new bike then hit the hwy's...

I have ordered the Clymers manual from ebay and have visited 2nd wind for a maintenance shop option. My co-worker owns the same bike and his son is a BMW mechanic in the milford, NH. area will check him out also..

I guess its garage riding until the sun breaks through...

Re: NEW Member

Dear NHBMW,

I have a 2005 1200LT and today is your lucky day. The best guy who will be a straight shooter and does great work happens to be in Manchester, NH. He has driven BMWs for years (over 300,000 miles), is a CERTIFIED BMW Technitian. The place is Affordable Beemer Services, LLC located at 640 Mast Road Route 114A Manchester, NH (I actually thought it was in Goffstown but looking at his Business card now). Guys name is Chris Harris. Phone is 673-3120 or 665-9269. I made mistake of going to Max BMW for 1st three years not realizing my warrantee would still be valid while going to Chris. I live about 1 hour away from Manchester and 10 Minutes from Max's but would never go back to a dealer for service. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or problems with Bike. Re: NEW Member

Welcome to the LT world. I bought my girl last October and can't stay off. If you are the least bit familiar with tools, you will find this site will save you considerable $$$ and allow you to learn your bike from the inside out. I hadn't had a scoot for 25 years and this was my re-entry. The advise here is incredible.
