Long Island Dealer???

Anyone know when the new dealer on Long Island is suppose to open? It has been rumored that BMW gave a franchise to a local Car Dealer on Long Island and they were supposed to open in June. I have not heard a peep, not even from my local Club.

Long Island Dealer

No rumor, The dealer was going to be Habberstadt Of Huntington LI. They have backed down and will continue as a BMW automobiles only dealer.

BMW is in meetings with a Motorcycle Dealer in New Hyde Park LI who sells Aprillia etc mtcy and scooters. Sorry i don't remember the dealers name.

The above information is from a very reliable source from the LIBMWRC.

Garage
Thumbs up

That would be exit 40 on the LIE

Considering I'm at exit 58, that ain't too bad, It's a hell of a lot better than going to Manhattan or Connecticut.

Is Arthur still open in Merrick?

Any idea when it will start carrying BMW parts and bikes?

Exit 34, off of the LIE. South on New Hyde Park Rd. to Marcus Ave. Make a right and take Marcus Ave. accross Hillside Ave. Bear right onto Denton Ave. and proceed to Jericho Tpke. Make a right and it's a few stores up on your left.

Arthur is still their, but no longer selling new. Still sells used bikes and does service.

Goldcoast was originally taking the spot after BMWNA stopped dealing with Joel in Huntington. The owner dropped out, but I guess he and BMW came to terms if he is back in the running.

Going on 2 years without dealer representation on LI, is IMO is unacceptable and borders on criminal. This is only one of the reasons I jumped ship earlier this year. I do hope they get their act together.

Hello Bill,

I got a very good deal on an 07 FLHTCU, Pease Officer Special Edition. The new LT is way overdue and I could not afford to wait for BMW to get their act together. The Gold Wing the way I want it was too expensive and not as easy to tool around town with IMO. Also if the new LT strikes my fancy I will be better off financially selling the H-D than the GL, if I decide to buy the new LT.

Believe it or not I find the ride more comfortable on my Ultra than I did on the LT, with stock seats. Just finished a 2000k ride with longest days at 395 and 410 miles with no problems. My only complaint so far, is that the new 96 inch motor runs hotter that older twin cams, due to EPA emmissions regs. There is a fix, I haven't gotten around to it yet, wanted to put some miles on it first.

Hope all is well, let me know if you get down to my neck of the woods.

John
