BMWOA Rally from Long Island

I just bought MS Streets and Trips and decided to find a route to the BMWOA Rally. Man, I love this board.

I think I've gotten a good one put together that includes visiting the Grand Canyon of the East in PA. I plan on taking US 6 rather than I-80. Can anyone comment on this ride?

I also thought that I could hit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

I will then take the Lake Express Ferry to the Rally site.

Any suggestions to make this a better trip? Now, how am I going to get to CCR?

Rt 6 goes over the Bear Mt. Bridge and into PA. The ride on the NY side sux till you get into NJ and PA. Once in PA Rt 6 is a very picturesque ride; through Honesdale; Tounghkanek (sp) (great view of the Susquahana River valley) toward Wysox; Tawanda and west. Once out west go north back into NY to access Mt Morris and "Letchworth St. Park" (the real Grand Canyon of the east).

Let me know when your planning to go and I may tag along for a day trip on Rt 6. I love the PA ride.

Another thought. Back 15 years ago I used to take the Ontario route when towing my old 356 to events in Michigan from CT. Your route from Erie to Sarnia is high density traffic, while, at least back in the late 80's, the Buffalo Hamilton London Sarnia run, thru Ontario, had less traffic. London has a number of motels for lodging.

Talking

Whoa, I didn't know we had two Grand Canyons of the East. Luckily for me, my son attends SUNY Alfred which is not too far away from Letchworth. I will definately check out that GC and the one on the map in Pennsylvania and report back.

Then we will know who has the grander canyon PA or NY.

US 6 e out of Cleveland-Oh 85-PA 285 over the causeway.
Take US6 into meadville, Pa 27 east (Take you through forest, fields and small to medium size towns.
At Pitts field you rejoin US 6 for a short leg to the east side of Warren
Get PA 59 (you won't be disappointed) you'll rejoin US 6 in Smethport
That will run you right over to the Pine Creek gorge aka (PA Grand canyon)
None of these are dirt or gravel roads.
