Toy Run

The Connecticut Motorcycle Riders Association is having its 26th annual Toy Run on Sunday, October 1. Go here for details: http://www.thecmra.com/events.html . The gathering is at Hubbard Park in Meriden, CT, just off I-691, between 9:00 and 12:00. The run leaves Hubbard Park at 12:30. I'm not sure from the flier where the end location is, but it looks like in past years they have ended up at the State Capitol. The toys go to kids who are in foster care and children's residential programs, so it's a good cause. A friend of mine suggested NOT getting a stuffed animal; sports equipment and art kits are good bets. There will be a sea of HD riders; any other LT (or RT or GT . . .) riders want to create our own subgroup?

Toy Run

I hit the toy run most years. Don't know whats planned yet. It used to start at the state capitol then go to East Hartford Elks. I don't know what they have planned this year but I will find out. If I make it I live about a half mile from Hubbard Park. We can probably meet here.

Jim, it will be great to see you again! Tom, I haven't had a chance to meet you, hope you can make it this year. Thanks for the suggestion that we meet at your place, that would be great if you are available. Just one question: you gonna ride the LT or the HD? Or one of them out to the distribution point and the other one back??

Tom and Jim, how would this work in terms of timing: meet at Tom's house around 11:00, plan to leave at 11:15 for Hubbard Park. That will get us there in plenty of time for the departure for the run. I'm also fine with meeting up earlier if folks want to.

Bill & Jim 11:00 at my place is good. Earlier won't bother me either. Will not be much to do at park except see people you might see only once a year. If you and anyone else is interested send me a P.M. and I will send address or directions which ever is needed. Parking for a large group is not a problem there is an old farm store across the street he lets me use the lot.

Thanks for the hospitality, Tom, I'll send you a PM for the address and plan to be at your place about 11:00. Fred, hope to see you there. Jim, the ride starts at Hubbard Park in Meriden; still not sure where it will end up, I have not been able to contact the guy I know who is involved in the planning. Guess I'll just follow the crowd.

I bought a football and a soccerball last night at Toys R Us so I am ready to go. Rain or Shine. Looking forward to the ride. This will be my first large group ride.
