Thumbs up Max BMW MOA Rally Special Pricing Online

While at BMWMOA I picked up a card at the Max BMW booth. It shows a 15% discount off online parts, apparel and accessory purchases through 8-13-2006. Also free shipping on orders over $50.

If you are thinking of a major purchase this seemed like a good time to do it at a good price. It was good enough that I ordered a BMW Venting Machine Jacket for hot summer use. I have a Joe Rocket Mesh but it always felt inadequate in the event of a get-off.

The venting Machine Jacket arrived today. It is beautiful. While lightweight (very), you can see by looking at it that it is very well put together.

Since it retails for $399, I got $60 off with the discount, and free shipping and no tax since they ship from NH location to NY residents. Total cost to me $339. I know this is a lot, as much as 2.5x the Joe Rocket, but it feels great to be protected. The jacket is made of polyamide material, which from what I read is superior to vinyl based materials that melt at temps found in sliding crashes.....

I am not affiliated with Max in any way, just impressed with their presence at BMWMOA and with there attitude in general at their stores and online. Excellent online shipping experience with good notification and tracking of shipment. Ordered 7/29 evening, arrived 8/3 afternoon.

Thumbs up MAx does it again

Well this guy will be around for a long time. I just got my back from MAx after a clutch problem. No it was not the imfamous slave cylinder, it was just burned up. He warrentied the whole job. Everyone in his shop desrves kudos. He treats everybody with respect. I am not sure that the clutch was all my fault because since the day i bought it i was only getting about 40MPG, Today on my 5 hour ride home I avg 52. And lets say I rode varily spirited. It seems to run smoother as well.

Max even went over basic clutch use and did not sound condesending at all. I learned something new today. One of my problem was that I would run up the rpms when starting off. He explained that this is not needed and proceeded to show me on some other LT in the lot. It will take some getting used to but I understand now. Sorry if this is old hat for you all but this is my first real bike and I am still learning.

They also have a shop in North Hampton, NH. About a 3 hour ride most likely less. I took the scenic way home thru Pittsfield, NH and down 202. It took me about 6 hours last night. Worth every minute.

BTW they do have pick up and delivery. It is free within 100 miles of either shop .

Well, I would open the throttle to about 2000 RPM and take off. I have been known to be heavy on the clutch.
