Well heck. I guess I have to throw my latest story in here. Last week while up in Ouray we were heading up the paved road to Box Canyon Falls and when I realized it turned to dirt I decided I didnt want to go any further. I stopped on the asphalt and started a slow 970 point turn around since we were on a nice steep grade and the road was narrow. Thought I had the bike turned enough and started to let the clutch out to finish the turn and ride away. Apparently my skillls at that moment were not what they should have been and over to the left we started to go. I put my foot down to catch the bike, pushed it up, only to start falling again and ahving to do the same thing three more times. By this time I realize we are heading towards the edge of the cliff and the bike IS going down, so I grab a handful of front brake, with the front wheel turned pretty hard left, and the bike at about a 50 degree olean to the left. to my AMAZEMENT the bike stood straight up. I was totally blwon away and freaked out. Rode up to the next pullout and got off of the bike to gather myself. I am standing there talking to my lovely wife when she informs me that SHE put her foot down at that last moment, and helped push the bike up as i was grabbing front break. SO very lucky, but I will NOT count it as a drop since the bike never hit the asphalt!
