Re: Oil Change

Once per riding season in NEOhio, as well. And for the same reason.

Re: Oil Change

Gary, I know what you use in your stuff and I believe that you should have no problem going for one riding season on a oil change. If you were doing over 15k I would change it for sure but here in Michigan we don't have as long of a riding as those who live in the south.

Re: Oil Change

I follow the MFG (vehicle) recommendations. 6 K on the LT and GS; 15 K on the 330 Ci. If I exceed the 6 K on a trip I don't fret. I just change it when I get home.

Re: Oil Change

As I recall (which is not as good as it used to be) when Mobil 1 came out @ 1980, they were advertising it at 25,000 mile oil. A local truck depot near hear was only changing it out at 40,000 miles. Since then they (Mobil 1) lowered the mileage, you can sell more oil that way, or they determined it was necessary. I dunno, I'm not an engineer. I've used Mobil 1 in all of my cages through the years and changed it around 15,000 with nary an issue. I've talked with many bikers of various brands over the years, and the consensus I've gathered from those conversations is that most bikers change their oil at 10,000 miles whether it is synthetic or not. YMMV

Oil Change

Not to start a oil thread ;what ever full synthetic oil you use; do you guys go over the 6 Thousand miles oil change. Most the full Synthetic Oils you use they claim that you can go double your normal oil change.
