Re: 3/4 Helmet recommendations?

I took the first aid class for Motorcyclists. It is much more complicated to take out full face helmet from an injured motorcyclist after an accident.

I know that a full helmet offers more protection, but I was involved in three LT totaling accidents with the Arai 3/4 helmets, totaled all three helmets, but never a serious injury because of the helmet. The last accident caused pretty severe damage to the helmet in 5 places, so my head hit the pavement at least 5 times in different places and different directions. (went down at around 80 MPH). I did have a litle road rash on my nose, but otherwise no head injury.

We all pick a level of protection we are comfortable with, and I always wore full ATGATT protection other than a full helmet, and would ride that way again. The 3/4 helmet is far more comfortable and quiet for ME. I put well over 100,000 miles on the Arai SZ/m helmets, and was VERY happy with them.

Re: 3/4 Helmet recommendations?

I have an old Shoei RJ-101V. It is probably the most comfortable helmet I've ever used. I believe that model is superceded by the RJ-AIR.

Re: 3/4 Helmet recommendations?

I tried a few helmets, found the Arai SZ-m the most comfortable and quietest.

Arai SZ/M 3/4's

Great helmet, adjustable cheek / ear pads, vented and a chin level flip shield.

Re: 3/4 Helmet recommendations?

The wife and I just got Scorpion EXO 100 helmets. They have a drop down face shield that has dark, light, and amber options. Zip out 3/4 protection. Safety yellow color. We love them.
