Re: bike to bike communications

My buddy has a Chatterbox. I use a Kenwood Freetalk.

No problems whatsoever.

Re: bike to bike communications

My wife and I use Starcom Advance units with Kenwoods and they work excellent. Bike Effects in Napa is a good vendor for them.

My wife and I use Scala Rider Multiset Q2's. They work great as long as you're no more than 500 meters apart. I've also used the standard Q2's with another buddy. You can also use it with your bluetooth mobile phone. FM radio comes standard. The newer multiset Q2 has an MP3 port so you can listen to your ipod.

Re: bike to bike communications

I pull up along side and give them hand signals. Some are real easy to understand.

Need gas, point at tank
Need food, point at fat part around middle
Need a drink, do the fake bottle and head tilt back
Need to let the wife off, point thumb back at SO and then run finger across my neck
Need to let them know they are idiots, one finger does that

What else do you need?

A couple of my buddies have wireless headsets that mate to with bluetooth and they just call each other. Works really good and no extra stuff you need to carry.
