Lee510 has had his unit rebuilt and as far as I know, to date it still isn't functioning properly. Know to another question, AFAIK the car dealerships will not put a rebuilt or even rebuild and ABS unit for today's cars. Why should your motorcycle be any different?

Re: Requesting pic or descrptn of ABS bleed wrench

Gang,
I have the dreaded leaking ABS pump/motor assembly housing problem. I'm told by two different dealers that they will not, and cannot rebuild these units because the factory does not allow. Apperantly, there is no seal kit available. I'm also told that the only solution is to buy a new $2300 unit. Could this be true? Has anyone located and replaced all the seals on thier own unit?
I'm surprised and disgusted with my LT for the first time if a $2300 unit can't be rebuilt.

Curtis the one on the right is for the early Integral ABS units that had the cross ports on the side of the unit. Not worth the effort to make as it only covers a very small drip or two of fluid. I have found the other one to be useful on half of the the other four bleed ports. It is just a 7mm box end bent at 90 degrees and a square drive added. I have done the whole thing with just a regular 7mm wrench. If you are going to make one - it would be nice if there was just a little bit of a pivot near the box end to help get around frame parts. Not sure how you would do that though.
Plus 1 on just a 7 mm box end. I slip the wrench on then push on the clear tubing and your ready to bleed. That will be the brakes and your knuckles if your not careful.

Requesting pic or descrptn of ABS bleed wrench

Could I trouble anyone (John Z.) for a pic or description of the special tool used to bleed post-02 ABS.
I understand a normal 7mm wrench can be used, but we have a tech session coming up this wkend and it sounds like there'll be a couple or three bikes to do.
I could cut 'n weld up the tool pretty quick if I knew what it looked like.

A pic or even a brief description would be mucho appreicated.

Thanks,
